Society is an energetic and fun restaurant and bar located in Tempe on the corner of University and Rural next-door to the Tempe Improv. Society offers inventive Italian and Mediterranean cuisine created by Chef Armando Aguirre. We offer our full dinner menu daily from 4pm to 1:30am with Happy Hour Sunday-Thursday 4pm to 6pm and Reverse Happy Hour Wednesday night from 10PM-12AM. Society is a stunning oasis in the desert with a large 28 seat illuminated rose quartzite bar top with an extensive wine list and creative house cocktails. We have plush booths, couches and a separate dining room area. When visiting Society we want you to escape with us and enjoy our hospitality!

If you would like a special Memento Menu printed for your Birthday, Anniversary or other Special Occasion, let us know under "Special Request" any applicable names or years of celebration to add to your menu! 24 Hours advanced notice required. These are NOT pre-paid, however you will be shown what you will be paying on your bill at the end of your in-house experience. If you annotated (1) menu, then you will only be charged for (1) and so on. If a name for the honoree, birthday age or years of celebration is not annotated, we unfortunately will not be able to print your custom menu as there is not enough information to go on to create a personal menu. Please specify if you are ordering (1) Menu, say for a Birthday or if you would like multiple Memento Menus. You can annotate how many menus you would like under the same "Special Request" section when booking.

It was super easy to find parking and the restaurant. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess who confirmed our reservation and led us thusly to our table. Moments later our server likewise greeted us and perfectly timed coming back to check on us and take our orders. Food and drinks came out in a timely manner were hot, delicious, and devoured. Beautiful atmosphere and could work well for a casual dinner and visit or an impressive first date venue.

Society was recommended to us by a waitress at a breakfast restaurant. I think that set really high expectations for us which Society failed to meet. The food was good although there was a couple pieces of my grilled chicken that was cold in the middle. They did mess up our order and had to remake one of the plates, surprising because there was only a handful of people in there. The waitress was pleasant but not overly attentive to our table. The restaurant is on the second level which made it more difficult for our elderly mother to get to. Overall it just wasn’t what I thought it would be but probably perfect for others.

Outstanding service; the staff made us feel like guests of honor. And of course the food was amazing, but everybody knows that’s what you should expect from Society. I asked for a quiet table and the hostess delivered it. There are both quiet and lively seating areas so if you have a preference be sure to say so.

Waited 20 minutes past our reservation for a table. Plenty empty and only 2 others in the lobby. Host were not engaging or hospitable. Server was fine. Checked on us maybe 4 times total. Overall just a miss. Wasn’t terrible but definitely not a place I would stop by again any time soon.
