   We had a nice dinner experience for my brothers birthday. The food was good and so was the service! Good times!

   Smokehouse BBQ is always good. Last night it wasn't very full. The service was good and, of course, the food. I had a Smokehouse Junior sandwich with turkey & brisket, fries, and BBQ beans. Everything was excellent. I would enjoy a bit more BBQ sauce. My husband had a Smokehouse Special sandwich with 2 meats. It was good too. We had too much to eat, so took about half home.

   We went on Valentine’s Day, so it wasn’t a surprise it took awhile to get our food. The waitress was pretty busy, but was pleasant.

   Having read the reviews, I eagerly anticipated a rave experience.  I was let down very hard.  I ordered the full slab of ribs.  This is my staple for BBQ and I hate to say it but even the big name fast food "restaurants" serve better.  To be fair the portion was very generous, but it was supposed to have been BBQ not broiled in an oven.  There was no smoke flavor, the meat was tough, certainly not the fall off the bone tender that I expect when going to a place that specializes in BBQ.   To add insult to injury there was absolutely no flavor, smoke or otherwise.  It was just a piece of cooked meat.  The steamed mixed vegetables were steamed but not thoroughly and, again, no flavor. The service was adequate.  The server that seated us was like a robot, not smiling or even acknowledging we were there.  The waitress was friendly enough but never asked how the food was and I was too embarrassed to say anything as this was a first date and I did not want to be "That Guy". The ambience and atmosphere was excellent, but what is that worth if the food isn't any good?   This may explain why we were able to walk in and be seated without a wait at 6:00pm on a Saturday evening. The place seemed to be at 75% capacity while we were there. Seriously, if you want to improve your fare, then send your people to Smoked Creations in Ottawa, Ks and order ribs.  That's how ribs should be done.  They are succulent, juicy, and exude a heavy smokey aroma and are infused with that same smoke flavor.  On top of that the meat literally jumps off the bones.

   Went on late Monday afternoon, it wasn't busy. It took about 30 minutes to get our food (4 people), and our server appeared to be newer, as he didn't quite provide the level of service we are used to in the past. The meals were good, and he picked up the pace towards the end. Noted since my last visit they don't give out wet wipes anymore and it was a bit hard to get extra napkins. Still the best in the local area compared to others we have visited.

    Had a reservation. Food arrived 45 minutes after we ordered. Kitchen equipment high pitched alarm (French fryer?) was going off 98% of the time we are there. Annoying sound that gets on your nerves after time. There was general high noise level. Constant moving of tables & chairs from one area to another. Our first time there. A chaotic experience, not a relaxing fun meal experience. They had 3 large groups - getting most attention from wait staff & kitchen. Food was good. Not sure we’ll try again…
