   This is OUR country club! We have been members for 18 years and feel very much at home when we go. We try to go every Wed or Friday night. The Wed night buffet is different each week and quite good. Friday nights usually have chef specials, plus a nice varied menu.

   This restaurant continues to amaze us with the creativity of the chef, the wonderful welcoming atmosphere so close to home--right here in the middle of Smoke Rise. It feels like the best parts of Cheers: Where everybody knows your name, and you're always glad you came.

   I thought there was a dress code at Fridays diners. After I was waiting for people to arrive I see a big group of people coming in in jeans and flip-flops. Some of them were members of the country club. There were kids running around disturbing your experience. A big group without reservation came in squeezing the room in front of the bar. My recommendations are: 1) make clear and enforce dress code for members and gusts 2) walk-in admission should be optional considering space limitation and conformability of people with reservations.

   Had a great dinner with a beautiful view of the sunset. The trout was amazing and the flank steak was also very good.

   Smoke Rise Country Club is a hidden gem nestled inside the Smoke Rise neighborhood of Kanawha. Wonderful environment, beautiful facilities and views, great staff and food. We go there for Sunday brunch, Wednesday Friends and Family night dinners, and Friday night social events. It is a private Club, but visitors can call and make appointments to come enjoy the Club and consider membership. It's a great value!
