   This was our second visit to the Miami Beach location. Food was reliably excellent, especially the 38 oz Wagyu porterhouse that we shared. Unfortunately, it was a crowded Friday night. The valet was full and we couldn’t get outdoor seating, so we were stuck in the corner of a small, tired dining room on the 2nd floor.

   It was a great experience as usual. The food and setting was outstanding. The service was not up to par because our server had another party of six.

   The experience was terrible from the reception where the girl accompanied us to the tables outside and then told us that if we wanted the place there we had to wait 1 hour (we had booked) until the peak at the time of payment where they do not accept Apple Pay and only want physical card. I was forced to go back to the hotel to get it to be able to pay in 2025!

   We’re returning customers and have always considered Smith & Wollensky one of our favorite spots. The location, food, and ambiance have always made it special. Unfortunately, this visit didn’t quite meet our expectations. We requested an outdoor table as we always do—there’s nothing like the sea view and tree shade. This time, we were seated in full sun, which made it a bit uncomfortable. While the manager told us no other tables were available, our server was exceptionally kind and took the initiative to move us to a nearby table that he believed would be cooler. We really appreciated his effort and great attitude. That said, there were still a few letdowns—like our wine arriving just before dessert and a general lack of attentiveness beyond the server’s kindness. We didn’t quite feel as welcome or looked after as we have in the past. We still love this place and hope this was just an off day. We’ll likely be back, but we do hope for a return to the warm and seamless experience we’ve come to know.
