Join us for an immersive gift-wrapping experience with artist and author Megumi Inouye, whose book “The Soul of Gift Wrapping“ celebrates the art of wrapping as an expression of gratitude, intention, and beauty. Drawing from her Japanese heritage, Megumi invites us to embrace the quiet elegance of simplicity—where a single sheet of paper, a fold, or a fabric wrap can transform the ordinary into something deeply meaningful.
In this workshop, you will learn to wrap books, boxes and wine bottles with both paper and fabric, accenting your creations with a fresh-foraged flower from our farm. A guided walking tour is included and will offer an opportunity to gather a few natural elements, heightening your connection to the materials you use.
As we sip tea and enjoy thoughtfully prepared snacks made by our culinary team, we will make space—not just for creativity, but for presence, connection, and appreciation. The act of wrapping itself becomes a gift, an expression of care for both the recipient and the earth, as we work with natural, sustainable elements that honor the beauty of simplicity.
More than a lesson in technique, this workshop offers a moment to slow down—to wrap not just objects, but gratitude itself. Beginners and intermediate participants are welcome (ages 18+).
Materials: Each guest will receive a custom SingleThread furoshiki. Megumi’s book will be available for purchase, along with Kally non-alcoholic beverages (to practice wrapping wine bottle shape’s). Guests may bring their own books (approx. 6” x 8”) or wine bottles to wrap. Additional practice materials will be provided and can be returned after class.
