My gf and I sat at the bar. It was very dark so I used my cell phone light to read the menu. One of the bartenders came over and scolded me. She was very rude. My gf asked how we were supposed to read the menu and she said that’s what the table lamps were for. There were no signs stating this was a rule. The ambiance and drinks were very good and the other bartender was nice. But it really left a poor impression. She obviously hated her job. Won’t be hurrying to go back any time soon.

Have been to Shelter a few times now and it does not disappoint! Fun decor throughout, comfortable seating in the booths and up at the bar. Bartenders are fun and easy to talk to, lots of recommendations and willing to customize cocktails to your individual tastes if you want something off menu. Definitely would come back again and again! Top choices for the drinks (that are currently on the menu as it changes!) are the Beet & Bourbon, Honey & Melon , Banana Bread and the Tomato & Basil. Lots of unique flavour combinations that not only taste great but are beautiful to look at.
