It’s one of the better Shabu places we have dine with, however, the buffet area is really messy and sauces were all over the table. It could be better monitored and maintained.

First time here at Shabuya in Alhambra, had to see what’s the hype for hot pot. Wow it’s basically creating your very own personal soup experience with a choice of 6 soup bases. Ps you can even ask to try the soup bases as they full of flavor and very unique. I ended mixing Miso soup broth with the Shabuya sweet like broth. But ended up added my own choice of spices and chili oil they had available to and to the broth. You’re given a choice of meat options and the first 5 on their list are the most popular and tasted great. Heading to the buffet style selection of frozen seafood to noodles to fresh veggies and warm out the fryer spring rolls. Honestly it was a satisfying experience because you can even make a tom yum seafood soup here! So I’ll come back. The food aspect they have locked down! The service is great, they constantly have staff cleaning any spills near the sauces and condiments section which is good. I have to say food wise everything was good. So to my surprise when I had to use the restroom. There were tissue paper everywhere on the floors of each stall and an overflowing pile of towels paper. Don’t get me started on the sinks because there was pieces of food near the drain. Now I now that this is not the institutions practices but the people using the restroom and applying proper etiquette to discard any mess they might have caused. But a routine check won’t hurt especially during dinner hours for those overflowing bins. This is my only complaint and I hope that this place exceeds moving forward.

All the food and meat was great, it was just the service that our table received was very poor. We came in pretty late but still had time before their last call. Not every table is full, but a good amount of customers to be cared for. - water refill: not arguing for finished water cups, but arguing about the service when 2 customer’s cups are empty at the same table. Maybe providing a water bottle for us to serve on our own would be better than no water. I don’t think it’s our problem that we didn’t raise our hands to ask for water - soup refills: same problem above. I think servers should be watching out for customers’ pot and ask if they needed a refill when the soup level is low. No one came asking and so I needed to raise my hands to ask for a refill. However, there was no more soup able for refills. - self-serving counter center: not really sure how this store works with the counters, but in my experience or memories for All You Can Eat restaurants, “last call” means only for the back kitchen or the meats. We could be ordering our last round for the meats before 9:30, but why is the counter with the sauce are closed that time? It’s a self-serving counter where we don’t need to people to serve us or refill more near the closing time. Cleaning up the empty buckets would be fine, but cleaning up all the buckets including the sauces when there’s still customers inside, doesn’t seem a little right to me. Considering these problems, we choose to give less tips and added a comment on the recipe about the service. After the recipe was collected, we then received 2 water bottles for our table, when everyone on our table is basically finished. Didn’t really understand the purpose of this late service. Overall nice food but horrible experience. Recommendations: - don’t come at a time when they like to clean up early - be prepared to raise your hand and ask for service

They shouldn’t make 8:45 reservations available if last call is 9:30

Worst service ever. Bunch of young male waiters more concerned about laughing and talking amongst themselves than helping or doing their job. Not once did anyone come to our table to ask us if we needed anything or to check in on how everything was. No one came to our table yo pick up the empty meat plates. We had to ask the waiter on four different occasions to add more broth to our pots. We also had to hunt down our waiter to get more meats. Terrible service. Also, there was this loud annoying music sounds that kept playing throughout our visit there. Not sure if this was triggered by the front door each time it opened. Bathroom was dirty and towel dispenser was empty. I can’t believe this place got the ratings it did on yelp
