   Fantastic! One of the most memorable meals I’ve had in a long time. For ~$130/person, we had a wonderful multi course meal that lasted about two hours. The meal started with a few different appetizers- salmon, ikura and rice paired with a warm sake; Japanese style omelet served in a fashion broth; abalone cooked in an uni broth prepared two ways; homemade tofu. Then the shabu shabu started! We had pork, A5 wagyu, other well-marbled beef, tsukune, a variety of vegetables (tomato, potato, mountain yam, spinach and more!) and mochi dumplings. For each item, there was a particular sauce or condiment recommended (of which there were many and they were all wonderful.) We were also served rice with beef and ginger in it. After the shabushabu, we had soba with duck and scallions served in a broth. For dessert, we had hojicha ice cream with red beans and roasted mochi and we were served green tea. Pretty much everything was prepared right in front of us which made for a very special experience. The waitstaff was very friendly and extremely attentive. Overall, a really wonderful and memorable experience. Can’t wait to go back!

   Mako, the lovely hostess/chef/bartender/owner, made our evening at ShabuShabu Macoron last week a very special one indeed. Having eaten all over the world, I can say this is a special, cozy dining experience. The food is luscious and inventive. The ambiance quiet and homey. And Mako is a darling. I'm sure the 8 seats will be booking up quickly for all seatings, so make a reservation while you can.

   Unique experience with high quality Japanese ingredient. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion/nice date.

   a pleasurable and unique dining experience in an intimate setting in our neighborhood. we were lucky to have secured our reservation with just two other diners for a soft opening last Saturday. with just eight stools at the open kitchen it was like having dinner with friends. the chef was so personable and explained the inventive cuisine with each successive course. we will be back!
