   The scallops were cooked to perfection texture wise. The dish did need a little more salt to draw out the flavor. I tried Cajun boiled peanuts for the first time and they were delicious. I appreciate getting a hot towel and lemon to clean my hands afterwards. I also enjoyed a strawberry daiquiri and the banana pudding. The bathroom was also very clean and was stocked.

   Our first time! Great space great service. The fried artichokes special was outstanding as was the fried catfish.

   Fabulous food and service! We ate in the main restaurant which was busy and bustling but didn't feel overcrowded. And we didn't feel rushed which was nice since we had an early reservation. Will definitely try the patio next time as it seemed a nice option also.

   Service and atmosphere was excellent as usual. They offered a new main course item, soft shell crab étouffée, which seemed to replace the monkfish with étouffée. The soft shell crab was very good, perfectly breaded and fried. However the étouffée that came with it too salty for my taste and did not include any crawfish which was the highlight of their previous étouffée. I hope the old crawfish étouffée returns to the menu.

   We had guests in town from South Louisiana. We went for dinner and my 100% Cajun friend said the fried shrimp and oysters were probably the best he’s ever had! We loved the Drago’s style chargrilled oysters, the shrimp and grits, the gumbo and the Airline Chicken Breast with potatoes augratin. As four Louisiana natives, this restaurant encapsulated the food and vibe that is Louisiana and that’s really hard to do. Our bar of excellence is pretty high, so this type of compliment is not easily given and a huge testament to the dedication of the owners to bring an authentic experience to their guests. Recommend 110%

   Cute atmosphere but it was so loud! The food tasted just ok, and the portions were small for the price. It took about 45 minutes for us to get our food (my dish came out several minutes before everyone else’s), even though the server asked if we were attending a play (we were) so the order could be prioritized. Something was clearly wrong in the kitchen because we could see others experiencing the same thing: appetizers arriving in a reasonable time, then a long period of waiting for dinner to arrive. We will not be returning.

    Another wonderful evening at Seraphine. We brought an out-of-town friend to one of our favorite restaurants in Durham, tonight. Excellent service, delicious food, as always. Any visit must include the dragos style oysters and the crudo, to start. Tasty Savi b and cocktail list. No wonder it’s a favorite.
