I had been looking forward to going to Savoy with another couple, as we had heard good things about it. There were four of us, two couples, Wed. 6PM reservation. The other couple arrived and sat before we got there. Upon entering, there was minimal greeting from the gentleman at the host stand. We quickly found our friends. The restaurant is stunning - from the walls to the silverware. Tons of bar space to have an app and a drink. I had a cappuccino, which was strong and served with sugar cubes. Wonderful. A 12 oz pour of wine and a mixed drink were ordered. Both to the liking. Two of us got salads with our meals. No complaints there. I got the homemade pappardelle pasta with veggies. I love homemades. The pasta was so gummy, thick, stuck together and pasty. Veggies were good. My husband got the filet, which, while nothing was wrong, definitely nothing stood out. The other couple got the salmon which was delicious and the tuna, which similar to the filet, was just okay. We ordered dessert and coffee. The carrot cake the other couple had was dry. My husband's ice cream was grainy. My hazelnut torte was tasty, with beautiful layers, but the layers easily separated. The creme brulee was a success. Overall, the reason I scored this so low was the expectations and cost. When I am easily spending $150 for a dinner with drinks, dessert, and one of the meals having no meat, I expect it to be fantastic - something I can rave about. It was not and we will not be going back.
