   Upon arrival, the exterior of the restaurant, while elegant, suggested the establishment's potential. We were hopeful about our evening, anticipating a delightful culinary experience given the commendable reviews we had encountered. The decor was sophisticated, with inviting music and a warm glow that accentuated the refined furnishings. However, soon after we were seated, our expectations began to falter. It took about an hour and a half to bring the food to the point where we started to cancel and leave. The reality was starkly different. We had hoped for a feast that would tantalize our taste buds, but were instead met with bland and uninspired dishes that failed to justify their exorbitant prices. The service was lethargic, adding to the frustration of waiting for food that did not live up to the restaurant's esteemed reputation. Cold drafts only served to enhance our discomfort, making the atmosphere far from welcoming. By the end of the night, our anticipation had soured into regret, and we departed with no intention of revisiting the establishment that had so thoroughly dashed our hopes. The overall dining experience left a lot to be desired, making us regret our decision to dine there. Despite the restaurant's promising reputation, our visit was marred by the slow service, unappetizing food, and unwelcoming atmosphere. We left feeling dissatisfied and unlikely to return.

   Sapodillas is a hidden gem! I stumbled across this restaurant looking for a Caribbean restaurant for a same night dinner reservation for a solo outing. From the website, and Google reviews and images I found I wanted to try it.. and not one regret! The restaurant was relatively close to me yet I’ve never been in that particular area. I’m soooo happy I came across this place, because I will certainly be back! The restaurant is cozy, cute, and picturesque. Far beyond aesthetics the customer service is exceptional! After briefly reviewing the website for details I totally agree and love the restaurant’s values! Entering you instantly feel welcomed and all the staff make you feel at home, like family! That’s an experience you don’t get many places! The staff go above and beyond to meet your needs and ensure you have everything needed. For my solo outing it was actually a solo weekday birthday dinner, and the waiter and waitress surprised me with a bundt cake and even sang to me! In fact, the whole restaurant sang a second round of happy birthday to me which was so beyond kind and thoughtful. This tells you a lot about the customers they attract. The food was amazing, the atmosphere is great, and the drinks are pretty, strong, and delicious! 10/10 I do recommend and will be returning with my friends.

   Sapodilla's is a great restaurant. The food, ambience, decor and friendly environment is why I have become a regular.

   Went for lunch before CAA tournament. Great atmosphere and great service. The Matre D apologized for not recognizing our reservation. They were gracious enough to place 2 high tops together and seat our party. Drinks were outstanding and portions were healthy. Rasta Pasta with shrimp and chicken is outstanding as well as the salmon. We received a tour of upstairs, met the owner. 10 Stars out of 5. We will be back. Revitalize Anacostia!!!

   Samantha and her team have opened an excellent restaurant in Historic Anacostia. The goat curry was awesome and the drinks were very tasty.
