   Had brunch here with family for Easter and it was very nice. Nice location. Food, service and ambiance was very nice.

   I don't understand why this restaurant isn't busier. In our experience, the food is very good, and the atmosphere is pleasantly beachy. The staff is attentive.

   This was our first experience at Sandpiper and we would like to return for dinner soon. We ordered the fries, mussels, arugula salad, burger, fish taco, clam chowder and chicken wings and all were great. We went on a Saturday so they have a somewhat limited Happy Hour menu and that's why we would like to go for dinner to experience more of the menu items. Danny our server was amazing - so accommodating and professional - he made some great recommendations and we ended our meal with several items of the dessert menu as well = all in all a great experience ...

   Sandpiper is one of the gems of La Jolla and has become one of our favorites since they opened a few years ago. They are new to Open Table! Really fabulous & delicious food, terrific chef & staff and a fun, casual & comfy vibe. Be sure to try the divine Crispy Shrimp and the skillet corn cake appetizers. Fav entrees- Mary’s Crispy Chicken, Pork Chop with Cheddar grits & the woodfired salmon. The specials are always delicious too. Great cocktails with clear ice and nice wines selection too. Just go.. you’ll love it.

   Waiter misunderstood our order and we received the wrong entree. He also forgot our side dish. Could have shown more concern when I told him about the missed side dish. Won’t be going back

    Sandpiper has been a go-to favorite with great cocktails, wine list and delicious, creative and unpretentious food. It’s not fancy but still has a certain elegance to the decor. Suggestions: bring back the house made blue corn tortillas, find more reasonably priced wines to match the reasonably priced food and maybe expand the entree offerings or at least add more specials. How about a wine flight? Also — Happy hour isn’t the incredible bargain it once was but the prices are decent and the food is excellent.
