The Samuel Fox is a five star country Inn, set in the heart of the Peak District National Park. It offers fine dining in a relaxed, informal setting. Chef/proprietor James Duckett works with seasonal, fresh and, wherever possible, local produce to create dishes that positively ooze favour. There are homemade breads and menus may include starters of goat’s cheese cannelloni, roasted squash, chicory and hazelnut pesto or cured sea trout and sardines with fennel, orange and saffron; mains of roast pheasant with braised leg, parsnip bon bons, cavolo nero, and sultana and caper sauce or rump of Derbyshire lamb with braised shoulder, carrots and lavender; and dessert of Bakewell pudding, rhubarb and fromage frais sorbet or iced caramel parfait with rum and raisin. A comprehensive wine list, real ales and four tastefully appointed en suite bedrooms make it a great base for food lovers wishing to explore the stunning landscapes, picturesque villages and heritage sites of the National Park.
