                                                                                                                      disappointing at best. Everything felt dirty. I would have expected a place called BBQ would have better than average bbq, in this restaurant it was less than average. The wings were the smallest I have ever had and the ribs were dry and chewy. I will give the sides a better than average rating.

                                                                                                                      I have never felt more compelled to write a review for the express purpose of warning people. Cold sides, wrong sides, an insistence by the wAiter that the mashed sweet potatoes were supposed to be cold. My pulled pork was more fat then meat with an attempt to hide that face with a lot of sauce. The smoked chicken was chicken but not smoked. The creamed spinach was cold chopped spinach with a few cheese curds. A scandalously terrible lunch. And now I know why we were the only ones there.

                                                                                                                      They didn't have the reservation, but they told me that they have tables but we have to leave in an hour, the food was awful and the service you can see that they were in a hurry.

Ordered the 3 of a Kind (ribs, chicken, pork) with sweet potato fries + onion rings. The ribs were the only thing that were warm. Food had way to much salt (and I don't mind salt). Another in my party ordered a full rack of ribs. They were dry on the outside, like they had been sitting out. Our server was working hard, but the kitchen let us down. Very disappointing experience.

                                                                                                                      The meats were way too salty. It is not good. Too noisy. did not like. Bad service in that, no one came by to ask us how the food was. I would have sent it back. Too too salty.

                                                                                                                      We did not get to eat at Sammy's as we checked in and 15 minutes later when I asked I was rudely told they don't have any tables for 5. I said how long and they said at least another half hour. I asked to talk to manager and when they came back they said he can't talk. I asked again and again the manager would not gone out and the hostess was rude. They did not care to honor an open table reservation. If this continues they should be removed from open table. We had planned to eat before the theatre and they completely disregarded our reservation

                                                                                                                      Excellent as always. Sammy's House of BBQ has become our favorite Theatre District dining. Fast and friendly service before showtime, in and out in less than an hour. Delicious barbecue, or simpler options like salad or sandwiches. Good selection of beer on tap. Wonderful staff!

                                                                                                                      DISASTER from the minute we arrived. No one at the door. There seemed to be no record of reservations. We couldn't be seated because of walk-ins in front of us. They opened a 3rd floor room and put a bartender in charge. She had no clue how to put orders into the computer. After a long wait the appetizer and main course arrived together. The ribs were cold. When reheated the ribs were dry, leathery and tasteless. The sweet potato fries were limp. Sammy's is not inexpensive. It should be avoided. I have lived in NYC for 15 years and have never had such an experience.

                                                                                                                      Tasty food and lots of it, right in the heart of the theater district. Good choice for before a show. Waitress seemed overworked but gracious and up to the challenge. Not cheap - however, you get large portions. I especially like the cornbread.

Ribs were overcooked,mac and cheese tasteless and dessert ordered(apple pie with ice cream) served with caramel topping which was not indicated on description in menu. Although it was exchanged to reflect the description the item was not very good. Overall was sooo disappointed with this restaurant amd would not recommend. Go to Virgil's instead!!!!!
