Well, the bread is colorful, if not very tasty. When we asked the server what kind of bread it was, we were told that it was bagel bread. The consistency to me was like colored white bread, which meant that in order to get colors they must have baked the dough rather than boiled it. We ordered, mini wedge salad and penne margarita (pomodoro sauce and provel cheese, which is a processed cheese consisting of mozzarella, swiss, and provolone and is a common cheese used in St. Louis. This was a winner, however when I order courses I DO NOT EXPECT THEM TO BE SERVED SIMULTANEOUSLY! A big no-no, but I have seen this occur at another restaurant in Las Cruces. Perhaps, this explains why LC is a fine dining wasteland. My partner order pecan smoked salmon with potatoes and broccolini. Quite good, but it appeared that pecans were not baked with the salmon, but simply added after the baking. The bacon bloody Mary turned out to be entree itself, given that this very spicy drink was garnished with a pickle spear, pepperocini, pepperoni, green and black olives, and bacon. The serving of penne paste must have been a half pound, so beware, I had to take some of it home. Conclusion, if there were more fine dining choices in LC, we wouldn't return, but there are enough successes, like Provel cheese and pomodoro sauce, bloody Mary, and salmon with sides to warrant a return trip and put up with their serving ignorance.

My mouth waters every time I think of my smoked salmon dinner. It was served with a dome which the waiter swirled and lifted to release the delicious aroma. After dining we adjourned to a couch by the fire to enjoy dessert and after dinner drinks. Lovely, romantic night out. Salute to Salud!

Sadly we found this restaurant to be very lacking. The steak was probably the worst one my husband had ever had to deal with. Service was very slow however this was clearly not the waiters fault. They were severely understaffed that night. The vegetable was microwaved.

Pastry of baked brie was sticky and there was hardly any brie. They didn't charge for it when we complained. The ahi tuna was seared in oil that was starting to go bad. There was a change in waiters, and bread was not brought to our table. We only knew the restaurant serve bread when we saw it served to another customer at the end of our meal. We were charged $3.00 for hot water, which was removed when we called it to the waiter's attention. Disappointing and we would not return.

Salud! has replaced another restaurant which we used to enjoy at this location and we were concerned as to what we might encounter, but to our delight the food was very good. We enjoyed Tapas and a very good fillet of local New Mexico beef. We recommend both. The manager came to our table and spent time explaining his vision for the restaurant and we appreciated that very much.

2 couples and 4 very poor meals! Didn't finish most of the food left behind. Coffee was just warm. Apparently there is a real problem in the kitchen! The 2 owners were on the premises. Why didn't they look at the meals as they came out with the server. This was very simple breakfast. How can they mess that up. Salud de Mesilla has been open for 5 months. I don't know how they've made it this far. And $40 for 2 people is outrageous! Will never enter this place again and certainly won't recommend to others.

When a restaurant starts by presenting the table with sliced bread which has been dyed bright pink and bright turquoise, and twisted into a harlequin pattern before being baked, this is a bad beginning. Why would anyone feel the need to add food dye to bread? I went with a friend; we arrived quite early because I had a later commitment. One of the two "small plates" which I ordered was said to be "unavailable" and I was told that the restaurant had "run out of" the second, which seemed odd, given that we had to be among the first diners. The plates that we eventually ordered were good, not outstanding. The restaurant was fairly noisy, with a combination of piped-in music and loud conversation from other diners. Our server did a good job.

Wonderful spot for dinner or lunch in Las Cruces. Food is flavorful and nicely presented. Service was a bit unorganized, but that is typical for a new restaurant. Would definitely come back to try other menu items.
