   We had a lovely Easter brunch today! Everyone loved their food which ranged from quiche to hot brown to French toast to a burger. We were warmly greeted and the great service continued to the end of the meal. We will be back!

   We do go here a lot. Love the lobster roll and the best clam chowder ! Sam is an absolute awesome waiter . My husband loves the very large omelette but please stop putting all that terrible seasoning on the potatoes He leaves them all the time terrible!

   Saltine was one of my favorite restaurants until recently. Quality of the food preparations have gone down. Watery she crab soup and changes in the scotash has been most disappointing so I stick with fried shrimp and raw oysters, SMH

   Overall we enjoy the food and wine , if I may the down side to be honest as returning customer and stay at the hotel before I ask for the possibility to connected to internet and I was turndown as I know in any hotel for guest can be easily accommodating. Said no to guest for such small request is not what we are expected .

   We met for happy hour drinks and then had a dinner reservation. First the good. The dinner was excellent, food and service both. Regarding the happy hour - babies at the bar should not be allowed!! A baby was being held at the bar while his parents were drinking. They had him in their lap, eating crackers off the bar top (icky) passing him around. This is NOT a good look. The bar is for 21 and up - not for babies, strollers, etc. There are people drinking, talking explicitly, all because they’re seated at the bar. Please fix this!

While Virginia law does not prohibit minors from sitting at the bar in licensed restaurants, we understand your concerns. In this instance, our management team did speak with the guests twice about their child being on the floor due to safety and disruption concerns.    Our waitress Ellie was outstanding. She knew the menu inside out and recommended the best dishes for our taste. It was the first time we have eaten here. However, the bar staff need to accommodate special drink requests. We give them a one.

   I have had dinner three times at Saltine within the last 2 months. They constantly serve top quality food and service at a reasonable price. If you are in Norfolk, I highly recommend making reservations or stop in at the bar.
