   Authentic Russian food, took my husband right back to when he was in Saint Petersburg! Went out of their way to accommodate us since I had made online reservations but they were supposed to be closed for an event. Felt like family.

   HORRIBLE. Apparently, standard operating procedure for this restaurant: Reserved thru OpenTable 1-month in advance for my wife's birthdays (a Saturday). Regular updates from OpenTable re-confirmed my reservation, up to and including 30-mins before we arrived (10-mins ahead of time, no less). Restaurant was "closed for a private event", with supposedly no manager present and no record (so their waitress said) of any reservation for us. In hindsight, other OpenTable reviewers (7 of 13, who also gave Russian Renaissance a 1-star review) had a similar experience of having their reservations usurped for "private events". This is a big-time restaurant problem AND a very significant OpenTable problem, too. Now it's 8 of 14 1-star reviews for "unrecognized reservations".

   Had planned to come here for weeks, drove for 2 hours and made a reservation just in case. Was never told that there would be a private event. It said nothing on the website or they didn't care to give me a heads up. Left disappointed, will try other places instead

   The food is excellent and authentic Russian. They don't serve liquor though, and their wine selection is minimal. When we went there we were the only ones who reserved through Open Table. The other guests were a large party of Russian men who brought their own vodka. The server was incredibly dedicated and very diligent, but there was only one (!) for the work that normally would need at least three such dedicated servers, hence the delivery was slow. Also, the bill had to be hand-calculated for some reason.

   I reserved a table online, on the day of the reservation I got a phone call saying that I can't come because they had a private party. Since my wife an I were visiting SF we had to call around to find another restaurant. It was very unprofessional of them.

   We came as a party of 4. All the food was very yummy, it felt like home. The service was good, but the servant forgot to bring us the adds-on for a "Tea for two".

   The reservation (for Saturday 6:30pm) was confirmed but the restaurant was closed when we arrived. The second star is just because this experience helped us to find nearby Red Tavern which we really enjoyed.

    I suggest you not visit RRR because they mistreat customers. If you really want to go, and if you end up making an OpenTable reservation, do yourself a favor and call them ahead of time and make sure they honor it. I should've believed what other one-star reviews were saying; instead I learned this lesson the hard way. My friend and I live outside of SF city and had to spend $$ to Lyft in, only to find out they were closed for a private party that night. No one notified us ahead of time; what's worse, I received a message a day earlier asking me to confirm my booking. What a joke. The owner was extremely uncooperative and kept saying "it's all OpenTable's fault". Of course she didn't make up for our Lyft costs. If you actually care about your customers and you're aware that this is an ongoing issue, you should take actions to resolve it with OpenTable. Well well, if you decide that this is how you're going to treat your customers, then I've got nothing to say. I was very much looking forward to trying out RRR and it was going to my first time trying Russian cuisines. This has all been ruined. I'm not going back to RRR, and maybe not any other Russian restaurants in the near term.
