   I received a conformation text from the place but when we got there we found that it had closed. OpenTable needs to pay attention to when a place closes and take it off the system. As a result we found ourselves on a Friday night my husbands birthday with no place to go. Very disappointing

   Dear Open Table, I think you should know that Roux no longer exists!! We arrived at Roux at our reservation time, took an Uber there with friends. The restaurant was dark and empty, and a woman outside said the chef had taken most of the furniture and had driven off! None of us had ever experienced anything like this, not even a call from the restaurant to let us know.

   We had an extremely good dining experience at Roux last night: the staff was attentive and friendly, the food arrived promptly, and the noise level was low. I was surprised to learn my hanger steak had been sous vide'd so that it was perfectly medium rare from edge to edge -- an impressive detail. The steak was stacked on top of some braised vegetables and a puréed sweet potato. Yum all the way down . We will return to explore other parts of the menu.

   The food was to die for! Perfect flavors and execution. The atmosphere makes you feel like you're in New Orleans. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I will be back soon.

   Roux is a small romantic creole restaurant with an open kitchen and a few tables in the front, with a somewhat larger dining area in the back. We sat adjacent to the Kitchen Bar so for the most of the night we could watch the chef's cook. We loved the crawfish biscuit and garlic salad, excellent!! The Shrimp Yvonne and Jambalaya were very good. We will be back to try some more authentic creole cuisine. Truly a gem in Laguna Beach.

   Roux has quickly become our new favorite restaurant. From the cozy, intimate ambiance to the exquisitely prepared dishes, this is one of the best finds in South County.

   Wonderful food in a compact environment. Sat at the bar overlooking the kitchen. Amazed by the creative efficiency of it all. We shared oyster app and steak Tartare app and shared Catfish entree. Better than New Orleans. ( which we visited last month). Sauces are extraordinary. Portions are good. Service a bit over friendly for my taste, but restaurant is pretty new and finding its audience. Plan to return before the end of our visit.

   Beautiful buildout. Great service. Please add more fish to the menu; redfish, trout; etc. More fish that are local with Louisiana cuisine. Good luck.

    We brought our out of town guests to dine at the restaurant and they absolutely love it! The food was excellent and Frank our wait staff person was very attentive. We will be back!!
