   We love Root, and dine there or drop by for a drink frequently. They satisfy our whim whether it's a romantic drink before going out, brunch, nice dinner, or lunch with friends with kids! Clean, local food.

   This place is a hidden gem! We love it so much we have been three times in the past week and a half. The food is absolutely wonderful, the waitstaff is attentive, and the drinks are phenomenal! I highly, highly recommend this place to anyone in the area or visiting! You will not be disappointed!

   We had brunch there, and it was very busy. The noise level was a little loud for our taste. The food was excellent however, and we would definitely recommend trying the place. The servers seem to be trying to cover too much territory. Our server was friendly, but when our order came out wrong, she was nowhere in sight. Fortunately, it was just the sides that were mixed up, so we did our own correction.

   We had a very nice dinner and everything regarding food and service was great. Our waitress was on her first night but she seemed like a natural which points me toward great training for the staff. The only issue was it was a little loud and I found it difficult to hear my wife across the table. It was also a little smokey, but not overbearing.

   We've enjoyed learning Chattanooga this past year and have discovered lots of great restaurants. Roots Kitchen is by far the best! Bunch was delicious! PBJ omelette was amazing. Sweet, spicy, smokey and cheesey! Crab Benedict was perfectly prepared with side of wonderfully seasoned, crispy potatoes. But, our favorite dish was the Brunswick Soup of the day. Will certainly be back for lunch and dinner.

   The front of house was disorganized. We had a reservation but the first two people who came to seat us didn't know what to do and walked away. It took a long time to get our drink order too. The $20 vegetable dish was not worth the price

   My wife and I made reservations for dinner on a Saturday night. There were plenty of open tables when we arrived, and we were seated quickly, but over 5 minutes passed before we were acknowledged by our server. He was apologetic for the delay and was a real pro the rest of the night. We were looking for a quiet romantic dinner but the vibe here is bright and loud. Halogen lights were flooding our table and the hard surfaces in the room made it fairly noisy. I enjoyed my pork chop and my wife loved her pulled pork flatbread. The beer list was praised on other reviews but we were disappointed in the limited choices. We would go back, but my expectations are different (lower?) than before our first dinner there. Dim the lights and add some rugs and it would help the ambiance a lot.

   On arrival------said I did not have reservations eventhough I received email confirming. Luckily---we were seated immediately anyway. Food was good and service within a reasonable time frame. Pricey----but not out of line with nearby restaurants. Waiter very polite and friendly.

    The food was okay but my experience was not awesome. I called on Saturday at 7:30 for call ahead seating. The hostess told me that the next available table would be 9:30 meaning a two hour wait. Over the phone I asked her how long was the wait and she told me one hour which means 8:30. However she told me that she couldn't put me down for a seat until 9:30. I told her thank you and used this lovely app for open table and booked 8:00 and was seated at 8:00. This app came in handy. After we were seated the host was extremely friendly even though our waiter was very loud in explaining to her that he didn't want another table. I feel this is a new place and they definitely need to work on professionalism and getting a few kinks out. I will be back to try items off the menu which look great.
