   This was our first time to Rood and we will be back. We visited on a week night, so it wasn't too crowded and we had a nice relaxing meal. The menu is somewhat unique, but we wanted to try everything based on the descriptions. The food we decided on was great and the service perfect. This is another Lakewood gem!

   Our first visit to Rood will definitely not be our last. Great vibe, fun and delicious menu, and wonderful service make Rood a fantastic dining destination.

   Everything had very specific flavors and offered interesting flavor and texture combinations. The special bread is really special, but a little salty with salt flakes on top. The hostess overheard me say to my spouse that I had not put in the reservation that it was his birthday after we saw another person get a birthday treat, and she told our waitress to offer that to him. Service was informative and responsive. Highly recommend the lamb meatballs and Halibut collar and the dessert menus changes and is super fun. Items are marked as Gluten free and plant based. They do not have a dedicated GF fryer, but the lamb balls were baked.

   Food was excellent and hard to save room for pie but we had to! Everything we ordered was fantastic but shrimp & grits stole the show!

   We enjoyed trying items on the new Spring 2025 menu. The Koji bread is a must! Get with just the butter or the “plate” with a variety of spreads. The Eggplant Kofta is excellent (tasted like falafel), but the Heirloom Carrots needed bit more cook time. The runner beans that come with the duck are outstanding! And of course the pie - we had the classic Salt & Honey it’s simple yet rich and creamy, and the Lemon Raspberry creamy and light perfect for spring in a delicious crunchy pistachio crust. Our server was excellent - friendly and just the right amount of attentiveness. It is noisy, especially in the front room, but that adds to the vibrancy.

   My only wise is that the music wasn't so loud. The volume made conversation difficult, but we will certainly go back.
