   Poor customer service. Food was very average and overpriced for what arrived. Staff were inefficient, and unhelpful. Given desert menus, failed to return for 15 minutes and then when waitress finally arrived she told us the kitchen was closed. Combined our bill to the neighbouring tablebecause we spoke to them when we saw them in the restaurant. Staff refused to accept their error and refused to split the bill. Complained to them and they said it was because they were busy (pub was virtually empty) and it's normal supposedly to combine food and drink bills for two separate tables that came into the pub 1 hour apart and ordered separately to combine the bill as we knew each other! Staff were over heard in the bar complaint about us wanting desert and wanting the correct costs for our table. Very disappointed!

   Thoroughly good lunch with old friends visiting after a long absence. Sea bass was very tasty, and pie was excellent with rich gravy. Staff lovely and attentive.

   The staff were excellent and the food really good. I’ve eaten here twice now and looking forward to the next reason to. I also walk the dog up to the pub for a ‘halfway watering point’ also good

   Given the difficult problem in the kitchen the poor service could be excused . Steak and ale pie and fish and chips both were delicious, the fish light and crispy. Tender steak pie , thick gravy. Large portions. Great value. Indoor dining needed heating on this occasion.

   A superb late lunch at the Robin today. Our party of 4 enjoyed 3 roast dinners and a sea bass. The shared roast lamb shoulder was especially delicious, and the roast potatoes were perfect as usual. Lovely atmosphere and the staff were most attentive.

   Had not appreciated we had booked that we were coming to a Pavarotti and Pasta event - a lovely surprise. Pub decorated beautifully, food superb and the opera singer who serenaded us was excellent. Great evening.
