   Open Table took our reservation and then confirmed our reservation. When we arrived, restaurant was closed for renovations.

   Lovely restaurant in a very quiet neighborhood. Our server Steve was impeccable in all regards. Why I didn’t rate it 5 stars all the way, is a bit selfish of me. To explain- my dad dined here 40 years ago and raved about this amazing gastronomic experience ( like nothing he had ever experienced before ). I, in turn, dined there 30 years ago based on my dads recommendation . He was indeed correct. It was the single most astounding restaurant I had ever gone to. The minute you walked in there was an appetizer table with an unheard number of items you were free to sample. When you sat down, there were Italian meats and cheeses hanging above your tables you were free to indulge to your hearts delight. The breads and foods kept on flowing . There was no menu. All they asked you was if you preferred meat, fish , or pasta as a main course. All the wines were home made and unlimited. There must have been no fewer than 8 courses of astounding dishes . Memorable was an understatement. We went there 2 nights in a row, and it was absolutely the highlight of our trip to Rome.I remember the place teaming with patrons, both tourist and regulars, and everyone was so darn convivial and happy. I do remember when the bill eventually came, it was a number written on a paper napkin, and that number was exceedingly reasonable at the time. That said, we returned to Rome this week, 30 years later, with a new wife, and the first place we had to dine at was Ambasciata d’Abruzzo. After all I had been bragging about it for 30 years, and the reviews were all great. It turns out their business model had changed years ago. They no longer do any of the above. No more limitless foods and appetizers, no more home made wines, all replaced by ala carte menus now. My anticipation did not meet the expectations. It’s just a very good but not once in a lifetime experience. Do go though if you want excellently prepared Italian cuisine served by a great staff of professionals. It is a lovely!

   Antonio was an excellent server! He recommended the fresh porcini mushroom salad to start and we also ordered the aged prosciutto with buffalo mozzarella. Then the cacio e pepe and linguine with seafood. And lastly we shared grilled porcini mushrooms with olive oil and sea salt - divine! Also his recommendation. Diverse menu and nice wine list. I will def go back next time I’m in Rome! Grazie!!

   We love this restaurant even though they stopped the baskets of salamis cuz of Covid. Great place every time we visit Rome! BTW, it was my birthday!

   Siamo tornati per il pranzo della domenica con mia mamma ed il compagno. Cibo sempre all’altezza delle aspettative per qualità e quantità. Servizio molto buono; il tavolo forse un po’ centrale rispetto a quello della scorsa volta, che era più riparato, come richiesto in sede di prenotazione. Ad ogni modo, l’Ambasciata è sempre una garanzia di successo!!

   We returned for our 50th Anniversary to find this wonderful gem still there are better than ever. Our waiter was friendly and informative. Helpful in every way to make our meal a cherished memory. We had the most delicious aged Danish beef steak started in the kitchen and finished off at our table. Very fun and great for conversation. Everything surrounding the main protein was a beautiful compliment, from the wine to dessert! Totally yummy.

   Amazing!! Service was amazing. The waiter was so nice and was patient with us and helped us with the menu. I highly recommend. It was the best pasta I had so far in Roma. Will definitely return during my next visit to roma
