   When we got there at noon, it was like we had the leftovers of the buffet - hardly any dishes were left. we had to wait for the salads and miso soup. No sushi was replenished. What we did eat was tasty. Service was excellent.

   I once had lunch at Rijo's and thought it was quite nice, so when I was looking for a place for dinner for New Years Eve I figured it would be a great option and close to downtown. However, it was a very strange experience. First, they called the day before New Years to let me know it was a buffet. One of my friends dropped out after finding out that there were hardly any vegetarian options available and $55 for a salad and desert wasn't ok for her. However, since the info on the buffet only came the day before, there wasn't really time to find anywhere else to go for dinner that night. Second, when we arrived, at 7:30, there was almost nobody there. And the place was super quiet so it felt even emptier than it actually was. The buffet was fine -- but at $55/person I would have possibly expected it to be staged a bit nicer and perhaps have a few more options. Overall, the food was good and there was clearly enough since there was almost nobody in the restaurant. The weirdness came in the sense that the staff seemed to want to ignore us completely and never came by for a drink order. When, after being there over 30 minutes, we finally flagged someone down to order a bottle of wine, a different staff member came over to our table with two opened bottles of wine, told us the one we had chosen was not available but how would we feel about tasting the ones he had with him (already open) and choosing one of those. It wasn't clear if we were supposed to take the already open bottle or if we would get an unopened one. Anyway, by 8:30 they were closing the restaurant down around us (on New Years) and all the food was taken away. What could have been a nice evening was actually kind of strange and lame. At least all the staff got to leave early and celebrate New Years somewhere.

   My parents love this restaurant, so we took my dad to Rijo for his bday. Not sure if it was the aftermath of Christmas festivities, but 12/26 dinner at Rijo was questionable. Were they understaffed that night? Seemed like there was 1 front waiter and 3 back waiters. The front waiter seemed a bit overwhelmed, possibly inexperienced and apologized a lot. They ran out of scallops from the Christmas rush. Forgot an appetizer until dinner was almost over. I've had brunch here for Mother's Day and that was a much better experience. Wasn't impressed by 12/26 dinner at all. Not a good restaurant for kids either.

   Christmas dinner buffet sounded amazing on the website. Reality was a huge disappointment. Decor was non existent, food was displayed in unattractive warmers, selection and service were extremely underwhelming for the $60 per person price! The highlight was the sashimi . Super fresh and the cuts were generous. The rest of the food was "meh".

   Have been here numerous times and food is consistently good and service has always been excellent. A great go to spot for a nice lunch in downtown.

   The food was great but when we arrived for our reservation, no one was at the front to greet us. Being that we made the reservation so that we'd be seated at a specific time as we were on a limited time for lunch. It was disappointing so it already set a somber mood when we sat for lunch.

   The food was fantastic but not many people in the very large dining room on a Wednesday night probably because the restaurant is fairly new.

    Very sad we were the only group of 6 in the whole rest.for the Sunday buffet. I believe it is presently closed?
