   My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant Wednesday. We were initially offered a table next to the door, we asked if we could have different table inside because the restaurant was empty it was really cold by the door , the owner rejected us. 5 mins after they offered another party of 2 a 4 person table inside the restaurant, which was very rude. We were recommended by a friend of mine to try the signature salt water duck. after we placed our order the waiter told us the signature dish is sold out. We paid £80+ for two of us, we didn’t order any drink, no signature dish, just standard food. very disappointing experience. Won’t go there again. The waiter was nice and helpful btw.

   We really enjoyed our meal here. Jiangsu cuisine makes a nice change and everything we ordered was delicious. Especially the dried tofu dish. We look forward to eating here again.

   Excellent food and helpful staff. Need to work on wine choice and drinks in general. More explanations as to the particular nature and attraction of the regional cuisine would be helpful.    Intrigued by Marina O'Loughlin's review in the Sunday Times, a friend and I decided to try Restaurant Hé out of curiosity to try the unfamiliar (to us) cuisine of Jiangnan. We were expecting things to be a bit hit and miss but at least interesting; in fact, everything we ate was excellent, service was friendly and knowledgeable, the design of the restaurant elegant and very good value for money. What a delight not just to have a great meal and to discover a regional cuisine but to find a restaurant we would and will recommend and return to!
