   I attended the Valentines Day Dinner with my children, and I called to see 3 days prior to Friday to see if a sub-menu for 1 child that is 10 year old would be available, and I was told there will be a "kids menu" with 3 options. A person called me back to verify with the chef there would be a sub-menu. I get there check in and was then told no that would not be available- My second child is grown so we only needed accommodations for 1 child. The server was rude ( Besty) and was unhappy with the request. I also added a note to the reservation to let them know i will have a child attending. The manager came over and I explained my situation and he was accommodating to the request which was great, but the service was hindered- My food was cold and the server was not diligent with checking in with us to see if we needed anything. Being that this was my first time at the Restuarant and heard great things about it i was very excited to attend, and it was horrible and disappointing experience.

   Although we had a reservation for the two of us, and the room wasn't busy for brunch, we had to wait for a table. Service was slow, we had a long wait for a drink order. The buffet brunch was cold (nice cold sausage and eggs at noon!), except the omelet. Price was $49/person, we could've had a nice filet mignon somewhere else. As an added insult, an extra $10 for parking is tacked on. Really? On a happier note, the room and ambience were very nice.

   Food and service were very good. Serving sizes were generous and the pork chop I had was thick and perfectly cooked. My wife had the chicken and it too was perfectly cooked and tasted great. The only real issue we had was the seating. It is always a bit of a struggle to ask for a different table. Plus we wanted to sit near the fireplace but there were families lounging on chairs/couches in front of the fireplace which then resulted in us asking to sit elsewhere. The room was also a bit cold but we do understand it was a cold weather day and this is an old inn. Our server was very pleasant and attentive.

   The ambiance was perfect for our “get together” with a dear friend. The waffles were the lightest and crispiest we had ever had…and topped with fresh strawberries and handmade whipped cream!!!

   This is my second year for New Year's Brunch and was disappointed with the quality of the food versus previous years. Last year (2024) the food was much better and there were many more options versus this year (2025) it was a very poorly laid out buffet with very inexpensive options. I would have expected some higher end food choices both on the breakfast and lunch side not just waffles and omelets and pasta/chicken for $50 brunch. Will most likely not be returning in 2026. The worst was they added an auto tip of 18% on top of the tip we gave at 20% and this was not explained when the payment was tendered (nor clear on the receipt) so the waiter ended up with a 38% tip. Anyway, be careful and avoid our mistake.

   Lovely venue. Good service and the brunch was a great value and delicious. Even the mimosas were with champagne instead of the usual Prosecco these days.
