Nestled on the waterfront in Irvington, New York, Red Hat on the River is an American modern bistro serving satisfied diners since 2003. There's hardly a seat in the house that does not offer a spectacular view of the Hudson river. Banquettes and a pewter bar accent the space while the walls of this 100-year old renovated factory building are adorned with WPA-era art evoking a feeling of a turn of the century Parisian bistro. Evolving from a humble bistro on main street to a bustling restaurant on the river with a rooftop bar, Red Hat's commitment to providing the very best experience for their guests has always remained the same. Try the classic menu standards of steak frites, moules frites, country terrine, and the Red Hat burger. Seasonal salads, sandwiches, and seafood entrees round out the menu. Red Hat was fantastic. The view was wonderful. Parking great. Mery our server was attentive and excellent. The food was delicious. We had the Holiday sangria, the edamame, steak fries and a child smashburger. The shoestring fries are yummy, the steak was cooked to medium rare perfection and it melted in your mouth. Red Hat was the best. I can't wait to return.

Great variety of Saturday brunch / lunch selections ... various poached eggs, including avocado toast, crab cakes, beef burgers, roasted pork, salmon, and nice vegetarian choices. Soup of the day was an excellent squash. One of us ordered a delicious beef burger and the other a very tasty quinoa mushroom spinach burger. Their signature "frites" potatoes were generous and tasty. A shared lemon ricotta cake with berry compote and very good fresh coffee rounded out our lunch perfectly.

This was a Thanksgiving menu. Starts were excellent. Traditional turkey dinner was okay. I think I would have enjoyed one of the other entrees more. Service was excellent.

My daughters and I had a wonderful time at Red Hat. It was our first experience at the restaurant. The cocktails and food were delicious. The service was excellent. We will definitely return!

We had a wonderful lunch sitting near the gorgeous windows overlooking the Hudson. The wait staff were courteous and friendly and attentive. We had that days soup and sandwich special. The squash soup was delicious and served in a mug, so you didn't miss a drop. The grilled chicken sandwich with arugala and asiago cheese on a grilled baguette was really tasty.

Lovely restaurant on the Hudson River with free parking nearby. A nice variety of food choices to satisfy everyone in your party. They are so accommodating to special requests.

This is probably my 4th time dining at Red Hat and this was by far the best! The food was excellent as well as the service but the food is what will make me return. Thanks for a great experience!
