   Disappointing. Some tables had white tablecloths while the majority did not. Vegetables overcooked and under seasoned. Service mediocre at best. A table of 16 walked out, wished we had too.

   There’s a lot of conventions so I’m gonna chalk it up to a busy time of year. However, we were seated early, which was lovely staff was great. It took 15 minutes to get water. It took us 40 minutes to get cocktails. It was just a very long service. The server was very friendly and helpful. That I will say, and the food was really delicious.

   It was my first time at Ray’s in the City but it will not be my last. The food was delicious and our server Chris was OUTSTANDING! He will be one of the main reasons we will return.

   I read the reviews and we chose Rays for Easter dinner… and so glad we did. The service was lovely (Haley), the food outstanding, and the ambiance lovely. Oh and the bar had all of our favorite bourbons. I can highly recommend the shrimp and grits..

   I have never had an experience where a server acted more “put upon” by the simplest of requests. We made brunch reservations for Easter Sunday and found the restaurant to be mostly empty. Perhaps, it was our mistake to think that each Ray’s location would be as inviting as the location on the river. How wrong we were — this was barely a step above the lobby restaurant in a Hampton Inn. What a dump — rickety chairs and dated decor. Our server was both loud and impatient. Despite being one of five tables, each course took an inordinate amount of time. The food was fine, but not remarkable. The experience was so mediocre that we decided to not order entrees. I’m sure the restaurant is fine for business meals — which must justify its existence, but avoid it all all costs for anything on the weekend, or holidays.

    Dinner was great, service was great. We ordered 3 chocolate brownie sundaes and 2 cheesecakes to go. Sadly, none of the chocolate brownie sundaes had chocolate sauce, caramelized bananas, strawberries or pecans. Very disappointing when we got home, but perhaps it are fault for not checking to ensure they did the right thing.
