   Food & venue is great! However service is very slow. Ordered a steak and round of drinks, and the steak arrived before the round of drinks..

   Wonderful dining experience, the BEST steak we have eaten in Mackay. My wife loved the corn ribs with miso butter. The only negative was the restaurant was a tad warm inside. We will be back again.

   Service from the waitress was very professional and apologised in regards to the wait for food.

   We had a terrible experience. No alcoholic wine available even though on the list The first two main meals took over an hour to come out, then took another ten minutes for the next (fish that was overcooked and cold and obviously had been sitting there for a while) then almost another ten minutes for the next My son is allergic to dairy and despite asking 3 times a burger came out full of cheese after an hour and 20min wait- they then said they cannot make the burger dairy free (seriously!??) so we left early and got him fast food No one was there to make a decision Terrible experience and never going back

   The food here is nice, but the service is very slow and food takes a long time to come out - well over an hour for a fairly empty restaurant.

    The only real problem with our dinner at Rare last night was that their air conditioning wasn't working. It was obvious as soon as we entered the restaurant as the air was very hot and humid. It was cooler outside. It is something that was probably out of the operators control, however, if we had known prior, we may have decided not to dine there. Patrons at most tables were fanning themselves with the menus. Being uncomfortable whilst dining out is not optimal. We would have stayed longer had it been cooler. We caught an Uber as it was my husband's birthday and we planned to have a few drinks. We didn't finish the bottle of wine and left when we had finished eating. Despite the humidity, our steaks were superb and the service was very good. We have always enjoyed our evenings at Rare and will return. I'm sure the aircon will be fixed by then.
