   Food was very good. The crab beignets and my deviled eggs were excellent. Shrimp and grits. Perfect. She lived her Caesar salad. The problem was the drinks. Average at best. Such is life.

   We love going there every Monday for the ocean Avenue stompers and the bartenders are very fun and welcoming and attentive! We always feel welcome at our bar and also love the food! We have had everything from the Cacio Pepe deviled eggs to the shrimp Poboy, pulled pork sandwich, French dip, gumbo, chicken, hand, pies, burger, garlic, shrimp, and the wings and wedge! We even tried the pimento spread one time and loved it too. We look forward to it every week! Matt and Maggie and Kelli are the best. It is always fun to see Casey sing and play with the band! Another highlight is when Al is invited up to the stage. thank you for a great place and a great vibe on a Monday night

   R Bar is always a great meal and the staff is attentive and you always want to come back. Gumbo is a favorite and burger with loaded baked potato.

   Hands down the best brunch in Asbury Park. The afternoon light in the Greenhouse upstairs is really something special. Try the Erin Rose Irish Coffee slushie. So good.

   We visited R Bar based on the good food reviews, but not knowing what to expect from the picture of the outside of the restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised. I would describe it more of a restaurant than a bar (although there is a large bar area with live music some nights). It is New Orleans style. We were seated right away and given 4 different menus...the main menu, the specials menu, the drinks menu, and the wine menu. Great selection of everything! The service was excellent...the best we've had in a LONG time. The drinks and appetizers were delicious. The only negative I can say about the entrees is that they were salty (but I guess that comes with creole/cajun). They were good, though, just very salty. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely return. It is a hidden gem away from the hustle and bustle of Cookman Ave.
