   R&D is a constant in a time when many restaurants have up and down service, food quality, and rotating menus. Their a stalwart that has the same menu prepared the same way every time; some may find this boring but it is this attention to their menu that keeps the quality reliable and the food presentation consistent. They do have areas of improvement however, their wine list is pedestrian at best with a poor selection of bottles and a per glass list that is lacking variety. The sushi is nothing special and is dominated by rice; they would benefit greatly from some sashimi offerings. Featured items include the burger, rubenesque sandwich, deviled eggs, The Newporter salad, and the daily fish. I have also heard the meatloaf is impressive. It never wows me but it is always a nice experience with solid food.

   Food is always consistently good. I had the seared tuna sushi roll...excellent! Ordered a good martini...disappointed the waiter never came back to exchange my glass for an ice-cold glass like the staff did when Francis was the GM.

   This is my favorite restaurant in all of Dallas! I used to work here as a waitress years ago and was impressed in the pride R+D took in their food and their presentation! Everything is fresh and made in house! Everything on the menu is delicious and the service is impeccable. 5 stars is not a high enough rating!!

   Great food but the wait is always super long even when you make a reservation. Additionally they always rush you out.

   I am a big fan of all Hillstone properties but this day was a big disappointment. After we were seated I had to ask 3x for a glass of water. The waitress disappeared and never came back for quite a while. Quite uncharacteristic for R & D. That poor level of service continued throughout the evening.

    Great food & service. Always make you feel rushed - we sat down at 11 and by 1135 they dropped the check and walked by 3 times to see if table was empty yet. Not just wait staff the hostess staff too.
