The beautiful pictures of the Mansion are nothing like Pratt's restaurant. Pratt's is billed as a pub but that's an overstatement. It's upstairs in what could only have been the servants of the mansion. It is dark, dingy and dated. You feel like you're in a restuarant outside of NY that you settle on when you're on vacation and desperate. The service was slow and we had to ask for a knife with each course. They only gave us the Restaurant Week menu, not both the special and the regular menu. There was no wine menu and the as such we did not know the name of the wine where it was from or the price per glass. As it turns out each glass we ordered was $16, a bit much for a $28 restaurant week dinner. The burrata was excellent, the bay scallops were OK, my boyfriend liked the filet mignon but my fish was marginal at best. The vegetables that came with the meal were mostly green peppers and the lobster tail addition was old and stale. The couple next to us left before their desserts arrived because they were waiting so long for it. I think the only reason we got our dessert in a timely fashion was because we probably got theirs. The management did not offer them coffee or a drink for their wait. They do not have cappuccino or espresso and they did not offer us an after dinner cocktail (for purchase.) I left hungry and disappointed. I would never go back.

They ran out of a few things that were not the menu. But otherwise a great experience

When we arrived we were told half of the menu was out of stock, there was no waiter/waitress and no hostess, only the bartender doing everything. I was really upset and disappointed with my experience especially because we go to eat everywhere, that was the worst service we ever got in any place.

We came to Pratt's because our last visit was wonderful. This time, it was not. One guest was not allowed to change his order once it was entered on the list. We requested bread, but were told that they don't "do" bread. The food, once it arrived, was barely tepid. Silverware came way after the food which had to come from the kitchen in the basement to the restaurant in the attic. 5 out of 6 ordered the steak; not one piece was done to our order- all were over done! Not handicap accessible. (which we knew but not posted). Menu was not as posted. We were told chocolate cake was unavailable, but cheesecake was. However when we were ready for dessert, there were only 2 slices of cheesecake and chocolate cake was available.??? Coffee was cool when served altho a fresh pot had been made. When I finally got hot coffee, I was finished with my "meal". I do admit that the water glass was kept filled.

The wait time between courses was too long even though the restaurant only had 3 tables occupied...the wild mushroom soup was chock full of mushrooms but did not have enough drizzle of truffle oil for an umami effect - The Korean short rib was excellent and almost falling off the bone but the lobster tail was not served with drawn butter which is its usual accompaniment and we were astonished to see fifty cents added to the bill for a ramekin of butter(tacky). The Filet mignon was overcooked. The Nutella Crepes were served ice-cold but the flourless Chocolate cake was very good. Perhaps the problem lies in the fact that the kitchen is on the ground floor while Pratt’s is on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator or “dumb waiter” to service both. Having a small service kitchen on the 3rd floor would eliminate this problem. Pratt’s 3rd floor space is great for after-dinner or after-party(weddings etc)drinks or espresso but NOT for a fine dining restaurant.

Went on a Sunday night ...only one's there. Hotel is undergoing construction so they didn't have a Pepper grinder as was in the downstairs kitchen and it was closed. Ordered a side of Brussel Sprouts for $10 and there may have been 5 all together. They also were out of cheesecake...just a mess. Don't bother unless you are starving.

As I ordered a Caesar Salad, the waitress told me they didn’t have any. I think that sums up the entire evening.

Nice ambiance. Was given warm water. Had to request water with ice. They prepared two of the same dishes when I had ordered different from my husband. Was disappointed as I had expected better from a restaurant in this type of hotel.

For what I thought was a fancy hotel, this restaurant was surprisingly casual and low-key. That's fine. The problem I had was with the service and the food quality -- many menu items unavailable during dinner, and food arriving burnt in some cases, cold in others. It was one of the worst meals I have ever had.
