   We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Plaza III recently! They gave us a fantastic booth with a lovely view of the restaurant. Our server Karla was first rate and very attentive and helpful. The manager couldn't have been nicer and checked on us personally. Our food was spectacular! We really enjoyed the shrimp cocktail and our steaks were perfectly prepared! The Key Lime Pie was a perfect way to conclude our meal and the cocktails were amazing! We are so glad that we chose Plaza III for our dinner and we can't wait to get back there!

   This is not a yes or a no recommendation. It is definitely a maybe. This was our second visit and the restaurant is very nicely designed and appointed and it is very spacious. A large bar area is separate from the main dining area and perhaps this is where breakfast (?) and lunch is served. Our server seemed to be a bit overwhelmed despite the fact that there were just a few customers. Drink orders were not filled, others seated after us were served drinks and appetizers, etc. The food was good but not much more than that. If this is to be the reincarnation of the Plaza III of old then the management has some work to do. Service must be spot on, the food must be outstanding or this PIII will be just another okay place in a very competitive market

   $150 bottle of wine the server breaks the cork. Steaks were under cooked and wasn’t checked on to send them back. Forgot about a peppercorn sauce twice. Not very intimate setting.

   We had Valentine’s Day reservations for 8:45 and arrived right on time. We waited for a few minutes and then the host took us to be seated. There were visibly 8 open table in the main seating area, in addition to two other dining areas. He took us to a tiny, 2-person table that looked like it was just randomly placed. It was in a high traffic area for the servers. He asked if it was okay and we said we would like one of the other open tables. He seemed irritated and said it would be a bit of a wait since they had to clean tables. He took us back to the front and literally sat us in a minute at one of the clearly open tables. It just felt very strange. Once we were ready to order, the server told me that my order of halibut was not available and that he didn’t know why it was on the menu since they never have it. (Mind you this is the reason we went there. I cannot eat red meat and wanted a mild fish). I had to get lemon herb chicken. When it arrived, it was overdone and dry. I did not like the flavor either. Our server, Tony, was very attentive and their only saving grace. Needless to say, we will not be going back there for another $200 dinner.

   Having dined at The Plaza III on the Plaza since I was a child, you expect a certain experience. The price demands certain expectations. No tablecloths, mediocre service (didn’t check back after food was served), table wasn’t ever “tidied” or cleared of dirty dishes (until dessert was served our dishes just sat), wine was served pre-poured in a glass that was dripping wine on the bottom, the ribeye wasn’t cut well (one end was thin and overcooked) among other things. When you spend $100 per person, you expect more. We won’t return.

   The food was amazing! We ate here for Valentine’s Day. Even though they were packed the service was excellent and very fast. Will definitely be eating here again!

    They sat me right behind a door and every time the waiter would come in, it would almost hit me. The food was not worth the price.
