Located on the mezzanine and ground floor of M by Montcalm Hotel in Shoreditch, Plate Restaurant is a swish and modern new dining experience. Along with the restaurant, the mezzanine hosts a cocktail bar, which overlooks the action below. Each section is available for semi - hire or if you require, they do offer exclusive use of the entire 1st floor. A quirky and funky alternative for you and your guests.

Food is described as British with a French flair. Using seasonal products, French chef patron Arnaud Stevens creates a range of menus. Open throughout the day, from breakfast through to dinner, expect dishes such as Barnsley chop and steamed St Mawes sea bream from the A La Carte menu. For something lighter, Plate Bake is an all-day patisserie that serves afternoon tea with a French flavour, along with a selection of European pastries.

Arrived after a very long flight came to eat only to be told that the offer in which we had booked and confirmed we had booked for was not running and that we were not a priority to a Christmas party that was going on which we were also not informed about. Very disappointing visit on this occasion, we did not eat at all and had to leave, have not been back since. A shame as this was indeed a favourite

Was very disappointed... in general I do not go to restaurants in hotels and I regret that I let the reviews sway me. The menu is small. I don’t usually order a burger when traveling in Europe but nothing else looked appealing. The burger was not a good choice.

I came to eat here on my birthday with family and friends and we absolutely loved it. Delicious and we had an amazing server.

Wonderful food but let down terribly by bad service. No explanation of tasting menu meant that my partner and I missed out on the two dishes that attracted us to the restaurant’ Valentine’s Day tasting menu in the first place and it actually took begging and 45 minutes to get the bill. Food is so badly let down by the lovely but totally incompetent waiting staff. This was the first time in my life I struck the tip from the hill.

The restaurant didn’t have my reservation and didn’t have a table available so I was seated at the bar by myself, took about 20 mins for staff to take my order. Once the food arrived everything was good, but I wasn’t made to feel welcome dining alone.
