   This was our second visit recently with great service, food was wonderful, very good service. even with a mistaken order which was rectified quickly. We experienced a delicious and memorable meal with out-of-town guests. We are looking forward to our next meal at this distinctive restaurant!

   We dined at Plate last night and had a wonderful experience. The managers were very friendly and attentive, and the ambiance was incredibly relaxing. For the past few years, we’ve had Drake as our server, and he consistently does an outstanding job. He’s attentive to our needs, quick to resolve any issues, and regularly checks in to ensure everything is going well. Drake is truly a five-star server. We’re very appreciative of the consistently great experiences we’ve had at Plate and make it a point to stop by a few times every month.

   Food was okay, not great. Overall was bland, garlic bread with truffle butter, truffle butter was the best thing on the menu. Bread was flavourless. Arancini was good, not great. Caesar salad was mediocre. Cacio e pepe was cooked exceptionally well, sauce was nothing. Bolognese, pasta overcooked and sauce was greasy. Wine was good and dessert were good. Service was okay, Drake seemed more concerned with other tables he was friend with than pay attention to customers that had not been there before. Overall a meh experience, better options out there and for better prices.

   We enjoyed a great bottle of wine and split the full arugula salad and Bolognese. Perfect portion sizes (split) and excellent service throughout our extended dinner in bar area.

   Gnocchi appetizer did not disappoint, and neither did the brussel sprouts. Dirty martini was exceptional and the Sangiovese wine was also delicious. We all had different entrees, and I believe my pork cheeks were better the last time at the Brookside location (perhaps a richer braising liquid?). The salmon and branzino received very good reviews and the caccio i pepe was just OK this time around - described as a little too al dente. Olive oil cake and budino were very, very tasty desserts.
