   This was a special evening -- we heard about Placita by word of mouth and decided to give it try. It was a great choice. The atmosphere was casual, but not sloppy. The food was very well prepared, savory, and well presented. The wine list was good (and growing). Our server was still settling into her job, but what she lacked in polish, she made up for with attention and courtesy. The general manager came out to inquire about our meal. He was very nice and we had a great discussion about local and regional wines. I would recommend it. It is pricey and the menu aspirational. I think it covers most of its bases well. I will be back.

   Placita is such a welcome addition to Riverside. I am recommending it to everyone... elegant Mexican food and wine and cocktails and a warm and knowledgeable staff. The branzino and the red snapper were superb and the cocktails are lovely. Looking forward to our next visit!

   Second time there with my wife and we really enjoyed first time for dinner. Our brunch reservation was at 2 and brunch closed at 3. Only a couple tables in use but it seemed like they wanted to close and for us to leave pretty much from the moment we arrived. Most everything on the menu was not available, and what I ordered had to be changed. I was thrown my plate of french toast but my wife and mother-in-law were not served for almost 15 min after me. We saw their food in the window and at least 3 people standing around doing nothing. Finally had to ask someone to please deliver the food, which they did. Probably would have stayed a bit and order another drink while wife/mom talked, but just paid and left immediately cause it was obvious no one cared if we were still there.

   The new resturant is amazing. The food is expertly prepared, presented, and the taste is outstanding! The staff is warm, welcoming and professional. This new gem ranks as one of the best in Rivwrside.

   I hate to write a bad review of this restaurant because I was excited to try it as I saw a lot of good reviews on Yelp. I went there for Mother’s Day brunch with some family members and it was just not their day. We had a reservation at 11:30 and about 15 minutes later we were sat outside because that was the only seating they had. I would usually not mind sitting outside but the ambience was not nearly as nice and it was hot after sitting there for so long. Out waitress was very sweet, but clearly new. It took about 15 minutes for us to get our waters. Then, an extra 15 after our drink order to actually get the drinks. We asked for lemon but never got it even after reminding them. When we finally ordered our food, it look at least 30 minutes for anyone to get it and every single order but one was wrong. The chorizo chilaquiles did not have one visible piece of meat in them. When we asked about this, a woman came out and condescendingly told us that there was chorizo and that it was blended into the sauce. However, there was not one visible speck of meat which is completely false advertising. The cheese enchiladas resembled more of a taquito. They were crunchy, had very little sauce, and did not come with anything else except three small taquitos. After all these issues, the manager finally came to speak to us and offered to remake our food and give us a discount. We had our enchiladas remade and they were better. The manager took $10 off our bill but honestly, I do not feel like this was nearly enough after how many things went wrong. I hope this restaurant stays open and I would be willing to go back and try their dinner since I have seen such great reviews. However, our experience was terrible and regardless of how busy they were, they should have been more prepared and more apologetic. I don’t blame the waitress because it was only her second day, but the manager should have been on top of it and taken more off our bill after what happened.

   I will give it another try simply because I want this to be what it can be. The chef should reconsider the choice of noodle in the chorizo pasta. The mole that’s paired with the pork chops is really good. More chimichuri on the steak would help the ratio but it’s a good dish. Didn’t have a drink but the drink menu is appealing

    While it is a little pricey, the food was delicious and elegantly presented. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. All in all, a wonderful evening.
