We had a fantastic dinner Saturday night. We are very sad that they are closing their doors next week. I wish them all the best of luck.

Caveat Emptor. The "no tipping" policy is in very tiny print on the bottom of the menu (which neither my wife nor I saw), and the server never mentioned this. Effectively, our adequate server ended up with a tip near 40% for what was hardly a deserving performance. I attempted to contact the restaurant via social media to ask about this and did not receive any response. I really like Chef Bodenstein's work, and I wanted to like this meal. The flatbread that we had to start was absolutely delicious. Wild mushrooms, fresh arugula and burrata and a balsamic glaze. The Caesar salad we had was also quite fresh, with a nice -- albeit very heavy -- dressing and whole anchovies. The pasta was underwhelming -- we tried both the Bolognese and the gamberi. The former was a pretty standard meat sauce pasta, the latter was clumpy and heavier than expected. The pasta itself was decent, but it lacked the snap of most fresh pasta. Also, if you like wine -- order by the bottle. The per-glass pours are the skimpiest in Cincinnati. Even including tip, $10 for what looked like about a 3.5 oz. pour of a house wine is way overpriced. All in all, it's an OK place. It's an interesting concept -- and I wish I would have known about the no tipping policy beforehand. I was hoping to be blown away by the food and service, and I simply wasn't.

I traveled to Northern Ky for a conference and made an online dinner reservation two days ahead of arrival based on web-based recommendations of prior diners. When in snarled evening traffic and knowing my arrival would be considerably later than planned, I called ahead. The owner kindly suggested I come along only after taking time to check into my hotel, which I considered unusually generous. The main rooms were busy so I found the quiet courtyard and neighborhood soothing and the food deliciously memorable. Garlic infused nuts and spicy olives were a pleasant appetizer, and the pureed Sweet Pea and Mint chilled soup both refreshing and surprisingly sweet. Choosing a pasta selection was more tempting after that delicious soup! I settled on two--the Bolognese with wide noodles and an angel hair with Shrimp, Asparagus, and Basil Aioli-- perfection paired. The waiter was knowledgeable and available but not obtrusive, suggesting several options when asked. I will definitely return to Covington on business or a sporting event, and can recommend Piccolo Casa as the best pasta restaurant in the area; bar none.

We sat by a window overlooking Greenup...Great people watching! The food was superb and the service was attentive without being intrusive. I especially appreciate the ability to order 1/2 portions of the pastas. Paired with a salad, it was the perfect portion size!

I have to admit I was on this occasion very sad after my wife and I dined here. Chief Mark is very very good he did my 50 th birthday 7 years ago and blew me away. Not the case on our most recent experience. I was my 57 th birthday and wanted to try his newest venture. It was a real bummer. Nobody even acknowledged my birthday after I put in the notes on open table. The service was very slow and inattentive . The waiter new nothing about wine pairing for my dinner selection and even said " I don't know much about the wines" he never had us taste the wine nor asked us much about anything. Totally not what I had expected. The food was decent but overall I was really sad because I'm really pulling for this restaurant to succeed.

A slight serving hiccup upon arrival was my only real complaint, but an annoying one at that as the restaurant is very small. After that, everything was perfect. Food was fresh and awesome, service was good, the place feels romantic. Get the groupon and get wild! Highly recommended.

This was our first visit to Piccolo. We've always enjoyed Nuvo and were looking forward to our meal. We were offered a bottle of wine that they were closing off of the menu at a discount price and it was a great suggestion and a bargain. We had the bruschetta, salad, two small portioned pasta dishes and the chocolate dessert. The meal was great - just the right amount to enjoy three courses with wine. That said, this restaurant does have issues with service. The wait staff is friendly but they seem short staffed even though they are a small restaurant. While the space is small is not cozy - the decorating is minimal.

This was okay Italian, but nothing special. There was nothing special on the menu that would cause me to return.
