   Horrible service. Check your bill two or three times. They charged us tip twice (one in the bill and another one in the credit card receipt). They charged a regular coffee as a cappuccino, a single tomato spaghetti as a spaghetti with meatballs, $9 for two avocado slices on the side...etc. Very limited menu for brunch.

   I made a last minute dinner reservation based on the reviews I read on Open Table. Unfortunately, my dining experience was very different than previous reviewers. My family of 4 was squished into a small table, our entrees were slow to come out; the table next to ours were seated later and received their food earlier than us. The food was fair/good, but the portions seemed small especially when plated in a big bowl. Service was spotty; had to request water several times. Did provide takeout boxes for leftovers. As previously noted, dining room is very small. Sorry to say that we probably won't return if we are back in NYC Upper West side.

   I love coming to Piccolo. Gianluca is the most gracious host and the food is ALWAYS delicious (I must go back to try the Bowls). Yes! Piccolo Cafe can successfully combine really good-homie-food with an irresistable menu. You guys make UWS dinning experience even more desirable,-) THANK YOU.

   So much fun with Chef Gianluca ! Had dinner at the bar and he was taking care of me from the kitchen. The space is tiny and cozy. I had bruschetta with truffle and burrata with balsamic and penne amatriciana that felt to be in Italy! Thank you chef !

   Great food. Neighborhood Italian gem. Very small and the ambiance is a little tacky but the food is really good.

   While the food was tasty, I was surprised by the discrepancy between the menu provided by Open Table prior to dining, and the actual menu: not only were items missing--such as steak--but the actual price was much higher. For example, the shrimp and avocado salad was $10 on Open Table's Piccolo Cafe menu, and $17 at the restaurant. When we asked for a beer, the waiter said they were out. Later, after asking for cappuccino, he said there was no espresso. The service was lazy: no waiter checked to see if our dishes needed anything, and we had to wait quite a few minutes before parmesan was provided to top a pasta, or finally receiving the pepper I requested. Finally, the wine list was very limited.

   Service was outstanding. Even in a very busy night, our reserved table was ready before our early arrival. The meal was exquisite and the friendly staff took great pains to modify a dish for our vegan guest and prepared a special non alcohol cocktail for another. Will definitely make it a regular spot on my patronage.

    Even though we arrived early to our reservation, we were seated right away, service and food was excellent, we will definitely return
