Southern Italy throughout the ages has been a stomping ground for a wide array of different cultures. The Greeks, Romans, Normans, Germans, French and Spanish have all battled over this region in the hopes to access trade ports and flourishing farmlands. With all these different cultures flowing through the country, Southern Italy has become a melting pot of flavors and cuisines. However, impoverished by war and drawing from those different cultures, the people of Southern Italy improvised to make their simple dishes elegant, delicious and long lasting. The regions of Calabria, Sicily and Sardinia provide bountiful rich spices including oregano, cumin and fennel and an abundance of seafood and lush vegetables that bring life to their dishes. At Peno, we stick to our Italian roots while also leaving our own mark as so many before us, embodying the “soul” of Southern Italy. Savor the experience of the new southern Italian soul food.

Love going to Kenos. The food is delicious from family recipes. Service is great and owner terrific. I highly recommend Penos.

This was our first visit to Peno. Everything was outstanding. We loved the ragu and the Godfather dessert. The Tucci salad and the eggplant were outstanding as well. Our server, James, made us feel at home. The entire staff was very welcoming. Their passion for great food and service shines through! We look forward to our next meal at Peno!

All in all, this place was great. The food was amazing (although the don’t display the prices and the bill can rack up in a hurry). We were fortunate enough to experience the homemade bread, the beet salad, the braised octopus, the shrimp scampi and the pappardelle, all of which received the honor of the clean plate club. Our server was attentive and informative and the drinks were delightful. My wife and I were both very pleased and I would definitely recommend this place as a go to spot for wonderful food.

Fantastic food! Unique, creative and very tasty menu. A nice variety of menu options - home made pastas were too die for, as was the farro base on many of the dishes. This is my new favorite place!

First timer at Peno. The service, neighborhood feeling vibe and food were all really good. Felt it was 10-15% overpriced but certainly not a strong deterrent from a return visit.
