Papilles is a gift to NYC. It is a truly authentic French culinary experience without the arrogant attitude assumed by many other establishments here in the city. Food comes first and is imaginatively and deliciously created by Chef Andrea Calstier. A puree of sunchokes had me purring. Halibut was gently cooked, adorned with uni and an uni sauce. Incroyable! A dessert of butternut squash left me gasping with pleasure. Service is thoughtfully paced; this is not a place to hurry through your meal. Instead, take your time and savor every scrumptious morsel. Considering the quality and creativity of the food, the prix fixe menu is a bargain. You can also enjoy the expertise of sommelier Nicolas, who knows exactly which wines go best with the extraordinary cuisine.'

Papilles is a little gem. Food is exquisitely prepared, beautifully plated, served at a comfortable pace. The bread and butter the best I've ever had in a New York City restaurant -- crunchy crust, warm soft interior. There is a fine wine list and an expert sommelier. Don't go for a quick meal -- savor every delicious dish.

People.... this place puts big restaurants like PerSe under the table and at half the price! The name translated means “tastebuds” and it did not disappoint. The cuisine was amazing and every dish was artfully presented. If you luv a culinary journey I suggest you go 💯!

Up and comer in the East Village. Excellent wines. Wonderful service. Small cozy space. Loved the duck breast. Raviole was excellent - wanted more than one bite. Crab bite also delicious.

This is one of the BEST restaurants in the LES. The device, the staff, and, most importantly, the food were absolutely amazing. I recommend for sure!!!

Small French restaurant which packs a punch. It's quite amazing to see such a small kitchen be able to serve this quality of dishes. Highly recommended year round.

Staff was exceptionally professional but not stuffy. The food was very good, the squab was outstanding with the date chutney and confit...wine selection was pleasantly accommodating. Open kitchen which is a nice touch.
