   We brought in a party of ten for lunch. We were the only ones in the restaurant. The bartender was kind and friendly, our waitress was fine but not overly friendly. The food (basic bar food) was fine for most of the group - nothing outstanding but it was fine - unfortunately as the person who picked out the restaurant and booked the reservation (thusly the review writer) I ordered the nachos. Wow. I could expect my 16 year old son to make me better nachos at home in the microwave. They were so bad I had multiple comments from others at the table at “how sad” they looked. This was a company lunch with two new to us employees so I wasn’t about to complain and send them back thusly setting a bad impression. Basically pile a bunch of chips on a plate, cut up some peppers and sprinkle cheese only on the top. (To be fair I asked for no tomatoes) The cheese was not melted thoroughly with large patches of clearly shredded cheese still visible, there were also about 10 dime size, dry, sad looking pieces of chicken on the plate. It was pretty horrible for 17 bucks. It’s not that hard to use moist chicken and make sure the cheese is melted throughout and I don’t know maybe layer a few ingredients so it’s not a giant dry pile of chips with a scattering of barely melted cheese and a small sad dry portion of barely edible chicken.

   The walleye is the best, either pan fried or batter fried with a very light batter! The beer batter shrimp were fabulous too!

   Service from Megan B was great. A little noisy from a golf group. Food was good as usual. A hidden gem at Deacon’s Lodge Golf Course

   We’ve always had consistently great food and service at Palmers Grille. The wait staff is always excellent and the atmosphere is charming and usually the sound level is low which makes visiting with your friends much more desirable.

    We had a lovely dinner at Palmer’s Grille. It’s a beautiful, intimate, lodge with a nice view. I had the Shrimp dinner. It was pretty good. The Au Gratin potatoes were excellent and the veggies were tasty. My 11-year-old said the chicken strips were “bussin” (that’s high praise). My 14-year-old had the Waygu burger and said it was delicious. He got a kick out of the tomato jam, which it turns out, was not just ketchup.
