Palio is an Italian restaurant and bar featuring authentic chef-inspired Tuscan dishes that include large pizzas made from a top of the line stone pizza oven, fettucine, bolognese, carbonara, lasagna, spaghetti and many other re-invented classics prepared with freshly cut herbs from Palio's own in-house herb garden.
Palio is named for the famous horse race that runs through Siena, Italy twice each year. The original Palio Ristorante in Ann Arbor, Michigan, founded in 1991, includes a record of the race's winners on a mural along the back dining room wall. However, Palio is certainly not a chain-restaurant. As a Mainstreet Ventures' distinctive eatery, each Palio brand retains similarities, however, each restaurant is unique in the menu, style, ambiance, food and décor. Palio in Grand Rapids is designed with an intensity that is as wild and colorful as the horse race itself!
Palio is open for both lunch and dinner, and features a happy hour with food and drinks specials.

My mom came into town and I knew I wanted to take her to my favorite restaurant, Palio! They did not disappoint. I always get their chicken mostarda dish. It is absolutely divine. We had Ana as our waitress and she was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The espresso steak was DELICIOUS as well. The garage doors were open which was great for our baby, who prefers the outdoors and was able to sleep soundly for the entirety of dinner. We can’t wait to go back again soon!

Great dinner. Sangria was almost too good, lol. I avoid gluten and I wanted seafood. Chef allowed me to get creative.i ordered the chicken dish with the salmon. The complementary shot at the end of the meal is a nice touch. The highlight was the brussel sprouts, we could have had 2 orders!

I loved Palio the last time I went which was just a couple of weeks ago, so I chose to go there for my birthday dinner. I’m sorry to say I was not such a fan this time. My dinner seemed to have died under the lights while
