   Our first visit to Overlea and we will be back. Everything about the restaurant was lovely. The floor to ceiling windows, the amazing view, the decor, the comfortable seating, our greeting at the door, our server, the food, the cocktails. All of it. It was all excellent and we truly enjoyed the ambiance and delicious meal. We will definitely return. It is a gem in Newmarket.

   Overlea is becoming one of our favourite spots to go for date nights or out with friends. The food has been absolutely perfect every single time, it’s a very chill vibe (casual to dressed-up - no one ever seems to judge) and the staff are so lovely and fun. She is a little on the pricier end, but for a good reason - the quality is perfection and it’s totally worth it.

   We recently went to Overlea for dinner and were pleasantly surprised by the ambiance, the food and the drinks. We started off with a lobster bisque (which was delicious), followed by the venison carpaccio (very good). Their cocktails were very well done (I enjoyed Room 202). For our mains, we had the veal and the Cornish hen. Both were incredible! The Cornish hen was outstanding. Finally, for dessert we had the chocolate tarte. It was decadent without being too sweet. Overall, the dining experience was GREAT. However, the service wasn't particularly great. It took quite some time for us to order and it seemed like our server was quite busy. That's fine, we know that sometimes servers get swamped with work. However, there just wasn't much attention to detail in making sure our water glasses were filled, taking away dirty plates so we have space to eat and checking in on how we liked our food or if we wanted to order something else. With such a beautiful dining space and spectacular menu, the service just wasn't up to par. I think that's easily fixable, but important to note.

   The Postmark Hotel is a beautiful venue overlooking the old town of Newmarket. The food at Brunch was excellent and the service was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the noise level was so high that it created an atmosphere of being in a cafeteria. They really need to do something about the acoustics to avoid raising your voice so that you are almost shouting. If we returned, it would be to a table on the outside terrace in better weather to avoid the noise.

   We were disappointed that they had no gluten or meat free alternatives. Ie turkey bacon or sausage - gluten free toast etc… otherwise it was pleasant.
