We really enjoyed the restaurant and will be back. Would recommend it to anyone looking for good Italian food and wine. Very helpful staff with good recommendations on wine. Loved the duck breast and short rib past.

This was our second time at Al Fico - and we absolutely loved it. The were 4 of us, and we ordered family style. Ordered: Pickles (OMG), Meatballs (yum), Insalata (bright and lovely), Trevigiano (amazing), Margherita (classic), DuckEgg Raviolo (fantastic), Triangoli (perfectly al dente), and two bottles of wine (both wonderfully paired). Ended with a cocktail on the porch. All in all one of the better nights we've had in Austin.

Restaurant does not have high chairs so bring your own bumper seat...otherwise you'll have to hold the precious one...

I found this place by google while visiting Austin for the first time. It was an unexpected surprise. It is a little off the beaten path but was yell worth finding it. I love the variety of choices. The menu was small but offered flavor choices I have never had. I have dined at several Michelin star restaurants and this is right up there.Love Love Love

Overall a good experience. The owner and hostess were both very outgoing and friendly, as was our server. The food was good - I would order differently next time, but what I had was done well. The meatballs are out of this world amazing and tender. Service was a little off-putting - one busboy (?) was repeatedly spoken down to (you're doing this wrong, take that back) in the middle of the dining room. Then later he asked our table if we were well taken care of by our server. Odd. I would definitely give it another try - beautiful location.

Pros: service! Great service! Entree...was pork rolled with herbs and garlic Good wine selection and recommendations Cons: My friends thought they were getting a whole fish. They did not. The mussels were pretty terrible. Tiny, bad texture. There were some that when punctured with a fork turned to black mush.

The new lunch menu is excellent, and the location just east of downtown and low-key, old school quiet environment make for a great business lunch venue, with a lot of privacy.

A cozy little place to enjoy a nice relaxing meal. We celebrated our anniversary the night we went. The menu gives you the option of ordering small dishes to share and be able to try different things. We started and the pork sausage meatballs in a red sauce that was delicious. Followed by rotini pasta with braised short ribs and a dish of tortellini filled with sausage in a beef broth, also amazing. Good thing we had bread to soak the broth. Too good to go to waste! We finished off with pizza of prosciutto and radicchio. Also delicious. They also have a fine selection of Italian wines and are willing to serve a tasting to see if you like it. The service was great and attentive. The owner roamed around the restaurant greeting everybody and making everyone feel like you were in his home. To top off the evening we were served a complimentary dessert. Totally unexpected. We were served cream puffs arranged around a custard and caramelly sauce topped with fresh strawberries. We really enjoyed our experience at "al fico". We can't wait to go back and try more dishes.

My family has eaten at Al Fico a number of times. WE LOVE IT. Their pasta is TRULY prepared 'al dente'. So Good. Everything we have tried has been delicious, well presented, filling. Dessert is NOT to be missed.
