   Always a great meal when you go to Orta. The entire staff there is terrific and the food was outstanding.

   Gave this a two because of the food. It was a new menu I guess. We have been there before and had good meals. My pizza didn't have a lot of taste to it and after a $38 stuffed sole dish, my husband felt sick. I had to send back my apple dessert and it was my birthday. Was way overpriced for what we got. Our server was great and the ambiance is nice, but you go for the food and that was disappointing. Upset we spent so much money for a bad meal

   ordered appetizer and salads prior to main course. salad and appetizer arrived together. i ordered the special, duck. waitress recommended medium rare, chef cooked to medium. there was issues with the check at the end of the meal - i was charged another guest's check. quarters were tight. we sat next to the pizza oven. table was set for 4. luckily there was only 2 of us. if we had a party of 4 it would have been too hot for half the party to sit and enjoy their meal. It appeared the strength of the restaurant was pizza from their wood fired oven. if we went back that's what we would order. I would consider Orta to be a fine dining experience.

   Best bolognese ever! Chicken with risotto was too big and we had to finish it the next day. Excellent service, warm friendly staff

   On this occasion, the service was poor. We waited 20 minutes to place our order. Although wait staff walked back and forth by our table, even after the hostess stopped to ask us if we'd been taken care of and promised to get someone, we had to literally wave down a passing waitress to get her to take our order. The restaurant was not busy and they did not appear to be short staffed so we thought there was just a mix up in table assignments... Until we had the same problem at the end of the meal and we could not get our check. We noted that the service was a bit slow the last time we were at Orta. (We waited an extremely long time for our food then.) The servers appear to have all changed. I just hope that bad slow service is not the new Orta experience. We tend to eat in Boston a lot but this used to be our favorite local Pembroke place.

    We had not been to Orta in quite some time and decided to give it another try. We were able to get a reservation for a party of 4. When we got there the hostess was flustered as it appears they were busy. She sat us and told us it might be a few minutes till a server came by. We were fine with that. The menu is good. Lots of options. Our server was friendly and attentive. Our meals were very good. Salmon, swordfish and two of the braised short ribs. Our salads were great as well. My only issue is that the entire evening took awhile. The kitchen was very slow. They did apologize for this and that was ok with us...overall food was great and again our server was great but it was a longer night than expected. I'd definetly go back.
