Japanese inspired small plates, sake and artisanal teas. Dishes are the creation of Chef George Meza who draws from his experience at Onsen. The menu is seasonal, with a focus on sustainable ingredients grown locally.

Onsen's modern Norcal Japanese interior design and sharable Japanese inspired dishes make an ideal choice for a date, a friends gathering, or for group outings.
The restaurant offers the Noka dining room, featuring a family-style shareable dinner for 6 to 12 guests.

Loved everything about Onsen - the fact that it's attached to a modern bathhouse, the restaurant feels like you're in Japan. The menu is well executed with outstanding izakaya dishes and a solid sake list. Such a hidden gem in SF!

Best SF Dining experience! Highly recommend going to bathhouse and then dinner. It’s perfectly paired and staff is incredible 😃

Once inside the door, the dining experience was excellent. Beautiful setting, excellent service, creative food. The only reason I am not giving this restaurant a 5-star rating is because I mis-read the map and thought the location was on the edge of the Tenderloin - not in the middle. Walking from Civic Center BART to the restaurant was quite unpleasant, and more unpleasant walking back. I recommend the restaurant but not the walk.

Excellent food. Music was a bit too loud but also discordant. Could the management choose some traditional Japanese music, perhaps?
