On the Verandah se inspira en la buena gastronomía fusión norteamericana en el lugar más idílico de Highlands, con vistas al lago Sequoyah. We found the food to be very good. The setting on the lake was nice. Unfortunately the service could have been better. We were early (6 pm) with not that many tables full. It took the server well over 5 minutes to come to the table. We had to wait a little after we finished our main course for the server to come and see about desert. When it came time to pay the bill it took quite a while after we provided the credit card for the server to return with receipt to sign. Even though business was starting to pick up it still took too long to return for us to sign the receipt.

We’ve been to On the Verandah many times. Food and service has always been excellent. This was our first Sunday brunch. Noise level was high due to an overly enthusiastic piano player. His was talented but choice of songs yielded a noise level which made conversation difficult where we were seated — which was inside and not on the porch. Service was a bit slower than normal. My Eggs Benedict ham was tough. That said, we will be back.

Very pretty setting on the lake. Good service. Food was okay-but I would return for the overall experience.

Karen and I have eaten all over the world in some amazing restaurants and experienced some Michelin rated chefs. We found the cuisine at "On The Verandah" to be not only excellent but imaginative. A small, be very creative, selection of international wines made the evening ever that much more special. Who would have thought a restaurant on a mountain road outside of Highlands could have been so good? Before we left we made reservations for a week later, and cancelled our reservation to another well regarded restaurant in town. That should tell you something!

An exceptional meal from start to finish. The wedge and spinach salads were delicious, as were the lobster and local trout entrees. Ask for a table on the terrace overlooking the lake, for a truly lovely setting.
