   Drove from junction 31 off m1 to olive bar and grill, after booking a table online to get there to be told there was no food left! Yes it did say online that they were closing for refurb but surely if they haven't got any food left they should say before hand by not letting u book a table. Was really disappointed as been here a few times and really enjoyed it, so thought I'd take my boyfriend as it was a hot Sunday day and thought we could sit outside to eat,

   Starter was cold. Didnt get extra bacon on the burger. When we told them they braught bacon under cooked. Service was very slow. Also the people next to us had a few problems and had to get meals sent back. One of the lads who came with us got complained at by staff for wearing joggers but didnt know it wasnt allowed. We went on a bank holiday monday for a quick meal so wasnt dressed up. We could also see all the kitchen staff pratting about in the kitchen taking selfies on thier phones

   I have been and dined at Olive Bar and Grill many times, however I was disappointed with my visit on Saturday 7th May. I was with a party of 4, we arrive and got seated and served okay, however when they brought my meal out, they brought out the wrong one. I asked for Chicken and Chorizo Pappardelle and they brought out the Chicken and Chorizo skewers. I told them that was not what I ordered and they took it back. About roughly 10 minutes later they brought out the pasta and informed me that they took the chicken from the skewers and used it in the pasta. However, this chicken was cold and it appeared to have no Chorizo in either. I brushed this aside as the rest of the party had almost finished their meals and I was only starting. We then asked for 3 desserts (1 white chocolate cheesecake and 2 chocolate fudge cakes). They then brought out the cheesecake and only one fudge cake. When a waitor came over and asked if everything was okay with our desserts, we told him that we were still waiting for one of the fudge cakes. He went off to find another waitor and he then informed us that only one fudge cake had been totalled through the till. We know we ordered 2 fudge cakes and the waitress who took our order repeated it back to us. The 2 waitors were very kind of the matter and gave us another fudge cake free of charge. Overall, I found the service very slow on the night and that I will not be returning for a while.

   Friends had recommended this place so I was keen to try it. I wasn't disappointed - the food was tasty and good value and portions were large. The menu itself was varied with a good choice. We had the lasagne and a burger but all the meals looked good. The interior is nicely presented with clean modern decor. The only slight letdown was the service. When we arrived our table was still being used by other diners so we had to wait in the bar area and there was nowhere to sit with our drinks. The food took over 30 minutes to arrive and the waiter never visited our table to check if everything was okay or if more drinks were required. Paying the bill was even worse, fed up of waiting after asking for the bill we eventually went to the bar and paid ourselves. That said it was saturday night and the restaurant was full, maybe the service suffered because of this. I wouldn't be put off going again though.

   A third visit here was just as good as previous visits with a great atmosphere. My only disappointment was that certain items were no longer available on the menu and they were not crossed out nor was there any notice about them. As a result I had to choose something I didn't really want! Hopefully next time new menus will be in use or I may think twice about returning again. Overall an excellent place to have a great meal.

   Long delay between ordering food and receiving it. Service poor, food dumped on table rather than 'served'. Steak quality really good but the rest was poor and overall a disappointing experience. Not in a hurry to return!

   Booked a table for 4 on Mother's Day ordered food 3 of the meals came out but I was waiting another 10 mins for mine. I also noticed the same with other tables. Then ordered desserts for just 2 of us, mine came out first and was waiting ages for the next one in which I had finished mine by this time. Very disappointed with the service as everyone's meals/desserts should be serve together

   We have visited the olive tree on many occasion, but our recent visits have been poor! We went on Mother's Day (table prebooked) and were looking forward to a Sunday lunch, to be told that they had run out of meat. So I asked for a chicken skewer, no chicken skewers, luckily my third choice was available. Partner ordered a burger, the bread bun was stale and the burger burnt and hard! Overall a poor experience

    Despite the reservation I was offered a table in the waiting area next to the entrance I refused so was given a table that was already reserved(limited time for lunch don't work when you are out with kids). Food was very greasy and cold (plates were scorching hot?!) No attention or help from the staff not even sorry about my reservation problem
