Sadly, the ownership, or management, has recently changed, and with it the menu.
We had chosen he restaurant for two reasons; to watch the fountain light show, and to sample the 'Tasting' menu, as listed on OpenTable.
Unfortunately, the change of menu meant there was no 'Tasting' menu now available, & the menu that was, wasn't particularly inspiring. The new menu choices were very different to those on the OpenTable menu, even when compared to the ‘Carta’ menu, & the choice of dishes very limited.
Our food choice disappointment was compounded by being presented with a new ‘Carta’ menu, and a set-meal menu. Having managed to come to terms with the menu not being as we had been expecting, we did decided to stay & eat, and selected to go with the set-menu option. Most irritatingly, when we came to place out order, we were told that we had been given the set-menu by mistake & that it wasn’t available. On top of this, once we had then gone back to the limited ‘carta’ menu yet again, and made new selections, when we came again to place out order, we found two (a starter & a dessert) of our choices had ‘run out’ and were also unavailable. Finally, the alternative start provided wasn’t consumed, as it contained smoked sardines that were not mentioned at all on the menu.
All of the above was in conjunction with staff not seemingly being dressed to start service & that seemed completely thrown by our arrival, even though we booked ahead, & the restaurant being completely empty for almost the duration of our visit.
I do want to close with some positive though. The view of the fountain light show was really good, & the staff were very courteous & apologetic, endeavouring in every way to resolve all the issues presented. The food we did end up consuming, sardines aside, was actually very good indeed.
Sadly, as an experience, it’s not somewhere we would ever look to return, nor would we recommend anyone else to go.
