   We were quite excited to eat at the Farmhouse. Unfortunately we had to wait about 15 minutes to get our drinks. The waiter was difficult to understand as the music volume was very high. We had another long wait for our food, which seemed to have more red peppers in it than needed. Altogether a mixed experience.

   Have not been here in 20 years but it’s still the same - great food, beautiful atmosphere, great service  amongst the table, we sampled filet mignon. Caribbean lobster with a vegetable couscous., kids, chicken fingers with french fries, and the housemaid bread among other things…. Every dish was expertly prepared, and the Manhattans were to die for…… one of the best on Saint Thomas no question

   We arrived for our 6:30 PM reservation on time. We were seated in good time, the $50 cab ride was worth the ambience and menu. Then the wait began just for bottled water and two drinks. We finally ordered and after fifteen more minutes our drinks were brought. Then it was mass confusion. A water leak in the kitchen…? We had to leave without eating. They said the restaurant would pay for the taxi. Another $50 the restaurant did not pay. We found a small Italian restaurant willing to serve us that late. Also, we would be contacted by the restaurant the next day. I am still waiting.

   After several wonderful dining experiences at Old Stone Farmhouse, tonight was somewhat disappointing. They acknowledged they were one person short in the kitchen staff, which led to lengthy delays in food being served. I had one of the specials which was ribeye steak and scallops served over linguine with an Alfredo sauce. The Alfredo was very very salty, almost to the point of being inedible. I was not able to finish it due to the amount of salt. The server tried to bill us for 2 bottles of sparkling water when we only had one and she corrected it when brought to her attention. The kicker was the bartender. As i was paying the final tab I realized the smallest bill I had was a $20 and I needed something smaller for a gratuity for the valet attendant. I went to the bar to try and get a 20 broken down for some smaller bills and the bartender told me he was too busy and I could come back later. I told him I had already paid and was leaving and he told me he was too busy. We had just finished paying over $300 for dinner, of which $75 was the bar portion with an automatic 20% gratuity already added in on top of that. As we were leaving no more than 2 minutes later he was standing there with nothing to do at the bar. I must have ask for something when he was having a bad night. We may reconsider future dining options at OSF the next time we are looking for someplace special to go.

   The service was fine. It did feel a little understaffed. Atmosphere was awesome but the food was overpriced and bland. Which is very disappointing since my bill for 2 people was nearly $300. I’m fine with paying that much for food but I expect it to taste significantly better.

   Very good food, nice portions. Good service. Definitely way off the beaten path on the island. But a nice upscale ambiance .

   The atmosphere and setting were incredible. Our waitress was friendly, engaging and an absolute pleasure to speak with. The food was incredible including the chef prepared samples. Would highly recommend.
