The dome-shaped venue on the Hoe, aptly named The Dome, was designed by architect Tony Irish. The Dome was first opened in July 1988 as part of Mayflower commemorations in Plymouth and started life as a local museum and tourist information centre.

Designed to have the Art Deco feel and opulence of a 1930s ocean liner, the venue’s bar will feature an extensive wine and gin list, a selection of cocktails plus a full range of beers, ciders and soft drinks.

The restaurant’s menu will feature fresh, local and seasonal produce and will include fish sourced from local day boats. We will also be offering traditional afternoon teas.

There will be opportunities for private dining, small weddings and business meetings – all set against a spectacular ocean view backdrop!

    We have dined here on a number of occasions this time there were a couple of small issues, no one asked about allergies on our arrival We had no check back when our food was delivered, so some of it was cold but there was no one about to tell ! When they collected the dishes the waiter was informed but said nothing and that was the last we heard I would visit again in spite of the issues

    We were welcomed with happy smiles and good service. The food was lovely, we did the breakfast offer which is fab value. SmIts a lovely restaurant with a view of the sea. We have been a few times and all have been consistent with good food and service

    £14 for breakfast 1 sausage,1 bacon . 1 egg , small pot beans , hash brown , half tomato, mushrooms , 1 slice of toast Very expensive even for buy on get on free Food warm not hot , toast under cooked Overall slightly disappointing Location superb although weather obscured the view

    The nicest afternoon tea we have had! My daughter is a vegetarian so went with the vegan option which was delicious too. Beautiful view overlooking the Sound from our table. I did manage to eat it all which was unlike me but it was all too delicious not too.
